Jerry Lynn's Medical Fund
Jerry has been experiencing chronic neck pain as well as pain in his right arm and numbness. The first procedure will be neck surgery to remove bones spurs, replace three degenerative discs, and fuse his vertebrae. He will be having this procedure done on Thursday, August 6.
Jerry has also been suffering with severe pain in his back for the last three months due to a bulging disc. He will likely need surgery for this as well, and he hopes to have that done as soon as possible following his neck surgery.
Jerry does have medical insurance, but he needs help in paying the $5,000 deductible. Plus, he will be out of work recovering for 2-3 months, which will put a hardship on his family, including his wife and young daughter.
It is time for us as a wrestling community to pull together and give back to Jerry after everything he has done for us, his fans.
To help cover all of his expenses, we are hoping to raise $15,000. Jerry would like to give anything over that amount to charity to help others in need. The charity he has chosen is the Nashville Rescue Mission which seeks to help the hurting of Middle Tennessee by offering food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless and recovery programs to those enslaved in life degrading problems.
If you've ever been a fan of Jerry from his early days in Minnesota to Extreme Championship Wrestling, Ring of Honor and TNA Wrestling where he was a pioneer of the X Division, now is the time where you can give back. Anything you can give from pennies to dollars will mean a lot to help with his medical bills and his family during his recovery.
We appreciate all of your support for our good friend Jerry Lynn.
Just after midnight, the goal was not only hit but surpassed in part by an incredible donation from Chris Jericho.
Thanks again for the support and the generosity. Every bit helped from the people who didn't have much but still contributed because they wanted to support Jerry. To me, those donations stand out just as much as the larger ones.
We're now at over 501 donations which is amazing and shattered the goal. Not only will this cover Jerry's medical costs and help while he is recovering, we'll be able to give a very nice donation to the Nashville Rescue Mission too.
Jerry is having his neck surgery this morning and soon as I know something, I'll update it here.
First of all, I want to thank everyone for your generosity in donating to help Jerry. It's truly overwhelming to see people come together to help our good friend like this.
Also, I wanted to mention that the goal for the campaighn has been raised to $16,000. The reason for this because I did not factor in the GoFundMe charges in the initial goal.
If we reach this goal, Jerry will receive around $15,000 which is the amount to cover his medical bills and loss of wages while he is recovering. Anything above the goal will still go to the Nashville Rescue Mission to help the homeless and people in need in the area.
Again, thank you so much and please help spread the word about the campaign so we can go above and beyond for Jerry.
