This is Maya, Griffin and Gabriel.  Not pictured is Justin, the eldest kid who is off getting an education.  The Scraggly looking dude, that's my baby brother, Jamie (or James, as he prefers).  James is in a bit of need, whether he wants to admit it or not and I want to ask you to help.

At the end of September James had an issue with some medication he was on.  This led him to a doctor visit where the conversation went something like this:

Doctor: We have your blood results back.
James: Ok
Doctor: First, you can stop taking that medicine, you don't need it any more and it's making your blood pressure low.
James: Cool!
Doctor: BUT... I have made an appointment for you to visit the Cancer Center tomorrow morning
<Cue the dramatic music>

The next day, James went to the center and had needles bored into his bones and marrow extracted and called me to complain about it and joke about how absurd this whole thing is.  The Doctor called again:

Doctor:  Hello James, this is Doctor.  Look, I don't ever work on Saturdays, but I am working on Saturday and I have your marrow results.
James: Ok
Doctor: Ummm Yeah. I'm gonna need you to come on down, the rest of us are here.

Later at the doctor's office:



And that's where my kid brother has been since.  He's got a rough road ahead.  A week of potent poisons penetrating his peripheral blood pumping pipes followed by 3 more weeks or so of laying around in a hospital under constant scrutiny for any change while The Doctors ascertain if he is kicking cancer's ass or not.  

Then another week of this same crap a month later, just in time for Christmas, because FU Leukemia, that's why.

Before all this, James lost his job to the joys of Out Sourcing and was on the hunt for new employment.  This came out of nowhere and blindsided them and now they need some help.  This is where you come in, unless you have a Unicorn on hand...

We're all friends and family or friends of friends and family of James Lane.  We all know how selfless he is.  To a fault, I say.  He needs someone to do for him what he's done his whole life for others, but won't ask for.  He needs YOUR help.  

We need to raise some money to help the family out.  This will go to help supplement Maya's salary from her new job, and whatever the state will provide via disability and unemployment.  James won't be able to work for a year because of this cancer, so he's going to need all the help he can get.

Thus the funds will help cover the mortgage, insurance, car payments and other bills.  And that's not even considering the medical bills that will come due sooner or later.  So please, donate what you can to help. 

This is my only brother.  He's the little pain in the butt that always had to be like me, but this time I need to be like him and do something to help him out in his time of greatest need.  He is, after all, my brother.
