Iza Needs Invasive Surgery

Donation protected

5 years ago, I adopted two wonderful puppies from a shelter who's mother had been brought in pregnant.
I wanted to keep the brother and sister together so that they would have a best friend for their entire lives.

When they were two years old, Jake (the brother), tore his cruciate ligament (just like the ACL in humans, but the canine version) while we were simply out playing with a ball in a field. He needed a $4000 surgery to get a synthetic ligament implanted, including metal bracing and supports. I paid for this out of pocket.

Now, Iza needs the same surgery. She tore it while we were out on a hike.
The options for little Iza are to let her be in pain for the rest of her life, keeping in mind that she's only 5, putting her down, or performing the surgery.

The surgeon who worked with Jake did an amazing job and I am confident he can do amazing work with Iza too. The issue is that we can't afford this very expensive procedure. It is a TPLO surgery if you care to look into the details.

I am sure the surgery will cost around $4000 again, but I am hoping to raise about $2500 as I will be trying very hard to cover as much of the cost as I can myself.
Thanks very much for reading, and considering Iza's health and well being.

Love,
Brian, Jeff, Jake, and especially Iza
