Helping Hands Elderly Care UG
"They were like us, and we shall be like them."
Elders are a community's life-line. They are the beginning of us all. Sadly, this truth has been forgotten by many people in the quest for material "success", leaving many elders behind to fend for themselves.
At Helping Hands Uganda, we strive to ensure the elders in our village, Kalengo, get the care and respect they deserve.
We provide them with free medical care, housing repairs, chances to socialize, assistance with their gardening and day-to-day work, and offer community sensitization to bring the youth back to understanding and appreciating their elders.
We are self-funded, with 11 dedicated volunteer members, each of us giving as much as we can while still providing for our own families. We all come from humble backgrounds in agriculture. Keeping the organization going at full steam can be challenging at times, and there are a few pieces of equipment we require to make our work more effective.
We have decided to ask for assistance from people outside our community, in hopes of improving our program and making it more active.
100% of the funds we recieve will go directly into projects or supplying medical care to our beneficiaries.
It has been said that "there is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and giving a helping hand to lift another up", and so we ask you: WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO GIVE A HELPING HAND TODAY?
Remeber that if we ALL give something, no matter how small, it will accumulate into something grand!
