Helping to fix my puppy's leg

Donation protected
Hello I'm Derek and this is about my canine friend Ursula Seven.

On Wednesday October 24th I was contacted by the woman who offered me one of the litter of puppies her dog had 10 weeks ago. The puppy I picked Ursula had been hit by a car. I asked if she was okay, and informed that there was no life threatening injury, just that she seemed to have hurt her leg, and she was favoring it. I told the lady that I got paid the next day and could take her to the doctor if needs be.

I took Ursula to a low cost clinic after calling around to get the best price on an exam and x-rays. After paying and leaving her at the vet's office I returned later to get the diagnosis.

I was informed that Ursula had a dislocated hip, you could see it quite clearly on the x-ray. The doctor also informed me that her knee ligament had been damaged as well. He told me that the expensive option to fix the leg and reset the joint could cost upwards of 4,000 dollars and the least expensive option the removal of the limb could be about 1,500 dollars. I was told to act quickly to do the best for the dog.

So we found a veterinarian that would preform the procedure and save her leg (only one operation not two) for just a bit more then the cost of removing the leg. The Doctor has preformed the surgery on Tuesday and Ursula is at home and recuperating. But now we have to pay the doctor for his kind services. I'd like to finish making the payment within the month or less. Two weeks if possible because I'll be taking Ursula back for a check up on the limp.

I had visited these puppies for at least an hour each week for two months and I didn't want to just let Ursula go without at least trying something that could help her. She is a very good puppy and tries to behave. It wasn't her fault that the woman who had the dogs let the pup get hit by a car. I just wasn't prepared for such an expense before the dog came home with me. And it happened long before I could even start pet insurance payments.

It would mean a lot to us if we could get your help for this bill. And I will promise to make a commitment to this dog for as long as she and I live together.

Those of you who contribute will receive a thank you note from me and a 4x6 photo of Ursula when she is all healed up and frisky.

For contributions over $50 the above and a cool Axanar patch from our friends over at Ares Productions!

For those local (to me) who contribute $100 will have the chance for a playdate at a local dog park when she is all better and ready to see her world. (Those who don't live so close will receive all above and a short video of an event with our girl.

Thank you all for your help.
