Helping Stephen Fight!

$35,095 of $60,000 goal

On April 23, 2017, we stood in a beautiful chapel in Saint Augustine, Florida and watched Wade and Stephen commit to each for life through thick and thin. Heartbreakingly, they are already facing their first real challenge.  A few weeks ago Stephen was admitted to the hospital with what doctors informed them were gallstones. After further examination the doctors discovered a lesion on Stephen's pancreas. After a biopsy and two days before Thanksgiving, Stephen received the diagnosis of Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer.

As absolutely devastating as this is to us all, we are dedicated to doing everything we can to help Stephen and Wade get through this unimaginable time. Although Stephen has a stable job and wonderful support there, the co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles will have their out of pocket costs conservitively at $22,000.

Stephen and Wade will need to put all of their focus and energy into recovery and healing. Taking even the smallest amount off of their plate will be vital.

Please join us while we surround Stephen and Wade with love and support!  No donation is too small.

Think of your donation as something concrete:

A $50 donation pays for one of Stephen's chemo treatments.
A $25 donation pays for Stephen to eat healthy fresh food
A $100 donation pays for roundtrip transportation to and from chemo.

Evey single dollar helps to save Stephen's life and to encourage him to keep fighting!

We thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness!

Hi Everyone,

It has been six months since Stephen's diagnosis of Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. Last week we received the results from the last 8 infusions of Flofronix. Unfortunately, there was no shrinkage from the tumors. On a positive note there wasn't any growth either. But this most likely means the tumors will not shrink therefore becoming operable.

The next step will be a combination of gemcitabine chemo twice a week with radiation everyday from Monday through Friday. For a three week cycle. There was a spot found on the liver that they determined is inclusive, they will continue to keep an eye on it.

Stephen and Wade's once newlywed bliss has become a fight for survival these past few months. This new schedule of radiation will be an add on to an already hectic and stressful daily schedule of a 12 hour feeding tube, removal and change of dressings, 2 injection shots of blood thinners, 2 flushes of the biliary drain, 3 Potassium flushes, and trying to keep all the oral medications on schedule.

Stephen and Wade are so grateful for all of the love and support they have received, thank you! As their journey continues so does the financial strain. Transportation on average to and from Sloan Kettering for each appointment is an estimate of $50.
That is a total of $250 a week just in transportation. Every donation is greatly appreciated and much needed! Please give if you can, and please share with others so we can continue to Help Stephen Fight!!!

Hi Everyone! Stephen got his first CT Scan results today after starting Chemo. Though the tumor has not started to shrink yet it has also not grown or moved at all. This is very positive news! Stephen will continue to undergo Chemo with the hope that the tumor will start shrinking in the next few rounds. This will eventually allow him to have surgery to have it removed completely. Please continue to keep Stephen and Wade in your thoughts and prayers. And please continue to share their Go Fund Me page! We are also excited to announce that we are working on a wonderful benefit concert for Stephen here in NYC in May! Details for that will be coming soon. Thank you all for your continued love and support! It means the world!

Stephen is getting his fourth dose of chemo today at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The next steps are getting a cat scan to look and see how the chemo is doing. Then 2 more months of chemo if it's working. After that the next step is possibly the whipple procedure or advanced radition if inoperable. But overall, things seem to be going in the right direction.
