This is my nephew Connor . I got his mom to help me explain it all.. the following message is from his Mom Ashley .. Joe and Ashley would appreciate any help you can give at this time...
Two weeks ago, Connor was diagnosed with Pre-B (ALL) Leukemia. Our lives have drastically changed from thinking we have a healthy and happy 6 year old, to finding out that he has cancer. He will need to have chemo treatments for the next 3.5 years!! We are very fortunate that this was found, and he's in the care of CHEO doctors.
In the last two weeks, Connor has had six chemo treatments and underwent three different surgeries so far. He is now at the Ronald McDonald house for at least the next month. He will need chemo treatments twice a week for at least six months.
CHEO/Ronald McDonald house is about an hour and 20 minutes away from us. Any fever he may get we need to get him immediately to the hospital.
Connor also has twin sisters that are two years old.
Instantly I had to quit my job, being a private daycare provider in order to be there for him. It will be a rough ride, and hard to manage financially. Being down to a one income home will be a struggle especially with travelling, child care costs along with losing an income each month.
We aren't people to ask for help but we desperately need it!! Any dollar amount helps. We are currently at a loss.
