We’re so glad you found your way to us. Here’s why we're raising money:
On July 2, a mother (Devon)-daughter (Windsor) duo will be traveling to China on a ten-day trip to help out at an orphanage. At thirteen, it will be Windsor’s first trip overseas, and will be a great adventure for both of us (spending time together and instilling in Windsor some of our family’s heart for missions and service to others). And to top that, we will be doing some good for some people who really deserve it.
Maria is an American woman who has been in China taking in special needs orphans for the past eighteen years. She is going to be in America adopting one of the children, and due to his special needs, requires assistance getting him home. Once we've accompanied her and are there, we figured we might as well make ourselves useful: we’ll be freezing up food, cleaning, watching the children, and doing whatever else it is that Maria wants us to do, before returning home. Don’t you just want to bless Maria and the kids, too?
The cost for this trip is going to be a whopping grand total of $5000 for both of us. (Tickets to China are not cheap!) We need to raise $1000 as soon as possible (to cover some of the cost of the plane tickets), and all of it by June 18th, which is right around the corner. The funds for this trip not only help with our logistics in preparing and traveling, but they also provide things for Maria and the orphanage.
