As some of you who are close to Candice know, She hasn't led an easy life. At the age of 7 Candice had a dental surgery which triggered a disease that laid dormant in her body. She was Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.   She spent much of her Childhood from the age of 7 until the Day of Grade 8 Graduation Spending her Time In and Out of The Hospital for Sick Children Located in Toronto, Ontario and The Bloorview MacMillan Children's Rehabilitation Centre also Located in Toronto, Ontario. Over the Years the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis also known as JRA Slowly took its Toll on Candice's Joints. The JRA has spread to EVERY Joint of Her Body at this Point. She was put on Medications to slow down the Amount of Damage the JRA was doing to her joints. She tried Methotrexate on it's own, which did Not do Much, So Enbrel was added. Using Methotrexate along with Enbrel didn't help very much. At this point Candice has endured splints being made for her Hands, Both Left and Right along with Leg Splints, and Night time Traction on Both Her Legs at Night while She Slept. She was suppose to have Full Shoulder Replacement Surgery at the Age of 16 but didn't. In 2006 Candice would have what would be One of the First of Several Joint Replacements in her left hand. She had her Top Knuckles Fully Replaced, whereas the Middle and Third Knuckles were broken and fused straight with pins. Jumping forward to 2014 Candice's Hips started having Issues from an accident She had when She was 16, When She was riding Her bike and fell, Having her Right Ankle get stuck behind the peddle of her bike, She Damaged Her Hip and was told to Take it Easy for Two Weeks. Again a few Weeks Later She hurt her hip. So over the years her hips just got worse and worse until 2014 She was Referred to an Orthopedic Surgeon at Strathroy-Middlesex Hospital. It was then decided that Her Hips Needed a Total Hip Arthroplasty also Meaning a Full Hip Replacement, on Both Hips. She had her Right Hip Replaced first, and it went Successfully. Then about a Month, or a Month and a Half Later She had her Left Hip Replaced, it was Successful for about 7-8 months when She randomly Got a Staph Infection. They Removed the Hip and Put a Metal Bar also Known as a Spacer in place so She could still Walk temporarily. Candice had a PICC Line Put in Her Arm because She needed to do 42 days of IV Antibiotics, She had to Wear a Pouch with a Little Machine that Gave Her a Specific Amount of Antibiotics over a 24 Hour Period, The IV Bags had to be Switched Out Twice a Day. Once the 42 Days were up, So Candice's Surgeon did blood work and was Satisfied that the Spacer could be Removed and A New Hip Replacement Could be Inserted Back In Once He Removed the Spacer Bar. The Hip Replacement was in and Working Extremely Well for almost a Year and a Half until Randomly One Day Her Body decided to Reject the Hip Replacement. Candice was laying in bed Totally Unaware that her Hip Replacement was sticking out of the side of her Right Hip. There was blood all over the Bed and Candice said She felt like Something Didn't Feel Right. Candice Called an Ambulance on Monday August 28th, 2017 and She was admitted to University Hospital in London, Ontario. During the time She was admitted, She had a Stage 4 Right Down to the Bone Bed Sore on her Lower back Slightly Above her Tail Bone. She Also had Yet Another Staph Infection in her Right Hip Except this time The Hip Replacement was Completely Removed Meaning Candice's would Never be able to Walk Again.   A Week After Her Hip was Removed Part of Her Thigh Bone Broke and Punctured Right through The Stitches from where the Hip Replacement or Prosthetic was Removed. Candice was Finally Released from University Hospital on Tuesday November 28th, 2017. Candice is Now Confined to a Hospital Bed Here at Home with Me Her Mom, who is Her Compassionate Caregiver, and Power of Attorney Should Anything Happen. I'm making this GoFundMe Page because there are MANY Fees We are facing that are NOT Covered,  Such as Candice's Vitamins She Needs, Boost, Powerade She Drinks for the Electrolytes, Voyageur Transportation back Home from the Hospital if She had to go in for any tests and/or Follow Up Appointments and Many Other Various Costs. I'm Hoping Someone can Donate and Help Us. Currently Candice has Two Personal Support Workers Coming to the House a Day, a Nurse that also Comes Daily and a Doctor that comes a few times a week to Check on Candice because when Candice was in the Hospital, Her Heart Randomly Stopped while Talking to a Nurse. The Nurse was able to Perform CPR and Get Candice's Heart Going. So Candice sits in her Hospital Bed Daily, Bored and Depressed because She can't get up and Walk Anywhere as Badly as I know She Wishes She Could! I Know She Would Love to be able to go out somewhere with her Daughter like She could before but She's come to face the Terrible Fact that that will Never be an Option. She has Nurses that Come to Change Her Bandages on Her Sacral Wound Bed Sore, and Cleaning and Putting a Bandage on The Bone that Still Sticks Through her Thigh. Your Generosity would be So Greatly Appreciated.
