Helping Ashley Recover & Heal
Tuesday night, March 28th, the unimagineable happened to Ashley Hall. Her and her boyfriend Scott were robbed of every dollar they had and Ashley was stabbed 19 times. By the grace of God Ashley survived but she has a long road to recovery and to get back to the sweet girl we all know and love. Ashley will probably be in the hospital a month or two, but she is fighting hard and strong to recover.
What we are asking for help with is not medical expenses but living expenses. As mentioned above, every dime Scott and Ashley had was taken from them during the robbery and attack on Ashley. For obvious reasons Scott is not working as much as he was. He is spending every second he can in the hospital with Ashley. Once her twin sister has to return to VA Scott will be the only person in FL to care for her and be there for her. They need assistance to keep a roof over his head while he cares for Ashley. And once she is well enough to leave the hospital they have made the decision for Ashley to move backt o Virginia to be with her parents and sibilings and friends. Scott has indicated that they would like to ask for assistance to help relocate Ashley to VA when she is well enough and in the meantime allow him to continue to pay their bills so he can continue to be with her and care for her.
We thank you for any donation, nothing is to small. All money will be used for the above reasons, anything remaining will go to cover the hundreds of thousands of dollars Ashley will eventually have in medical costs. She did not have health insurance and was almost killed by 19 stab wounds. She has already had 2 surgeries and there is the possiblity she will have more. She's been in the ICU since the attack. By God's grace she is now in Stable Condition and fighting hard every day to recover from this terrible tragedy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and Scott extends his apperciation and love for everyone who is able to help. If you can't give - please share this on your wall.
Once Ashley gets out of the hospital we are going to need to stay here in Florida for a week or two so she can go to her follow up appointments. Ashley does not want to go back to place where this horror unfolded, they are hoping to find a hotel, preferably one that might allow her to have one of her cats there with her. As soon as she's done with the doctors in FL and can travel she plans continue therapy in Richmond. In the meantime they will need to find a hotel in the Boynton Beach area to stay in approximately 2 weeks.
Please contact Scott directly via Facebook, or his cell if you're able to help with hotel discounts or points/rewards. I'll be best to coordinate this directly through him instead of me, Angela or Chris. If you cannot contact Scott via Facebook please email me through this page and I will put the 2 of you in touch.
Now onto a progress update ... which is AMAZING. Our girl is blowing everybody's mind with her tenacity, grit, determination and strength!! (Copy and pasted from an update from Chris on Facebook)
Another great update to all the #AshleySTRONG supporters...she is doing amazingly well. She was moved last night from the Trauma ICU to the stepdown unit. She is eating real food now! Scott was actually able to have dinner with her tonight! This is totally amazing to me that last week we were crying tears of sorrow and now we are crying tears of joy! God is definitely great! But we aren't out of the woods yet...they still need all the prayers and donations y'all are able to give because she is going to need months of physical therapy and they need to get back to RVA where their family and friends are. So, lets keep doing this! God bless all of you!
Lastly I will be setting up another way of raising money for Ashley this evening. Please look to Scott, Angela, Chris or my Facebook page for that information.
Thank you all & God Bless
No money will ever resolve the physical and mental scares my twin sister will battle for the rest of her life. However, getting her back to VA with her friends and family will impact her recovery greatly! Please donate what you can. Her and her boyfriend are close to getting evicted because they can't afford to get their rent paid and really need help in moving on with their life in a more comfortable and familiar environment. Anything helps! Please help so recovery can be the main concentration and not bills!
These two amazing people have been through hell and have a long way to get back! I love them both wholeheartedly! If you choose to leave a comment, please let it be positive. Thats all we want for them! Keep the prayers coming too! #AshleySTRONG #prayerwarriorstrong
Thank you, Leisa, for the update. G-d bless Ashley and you, and give you both strength and sustenance thru this ordeal. Richard
