Dear family, friends and friends of friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to you for support today. A a week ago yesterday, Abbey's spouse, Michael, passed away unexpectedly; leaving behind four grieving children; ages 12, 9, 6 and 3; and a grieving partner and sole caregiver. Abbey and her family moved back to Florida mid June 2018, not two months ago, after spending nearly a decade living in Jamaica. Michael's passing has presented an array of emergency challenges to be met solely by Abbey. Michael did not have life insurance and it could take weeks before his social security benefits kick in to help support the children. Because of this extreme and sudden loss, and being the sole caregiver to the children, Abbey has not been able to return work. This family is in great need of support to help get them through the next few months, so they are able to get back on their feet and adjust to a single parented household and all the challenges this presents for each.
Abbey and her family are in need of immediate financial support to pay for food, rent, clothing, basic household items that didn't make the move, school supplies for the children, child care costs and other necessities until she can get her feet under her.
Abbey and her children are without a physical and financial support system, your donations will take some of the overwhelming pressure off her shoulders until she starts to receive assistance. This has been a tremendous loss to her family who were just starting over.
