A-PAL Humane Society is campaigning to raise money for our special needs dog Dixie.
Our special needs program helps dogs and cats from varying stages in life and for a variety of conditions. Dixie was a working ranch dog and had a relatively happy life at home until she got into an accident on the highway. Her owner had not secured her in his truck bed and Dixie took a dive out of the back of the truck and onto the highway, miraculously surviving the fall with just a broken femur. Her owner was unable to take care of her after her injury and surrendered her to the Amador County Animal Shelter. The shelter gave us a call and asked if we would be willing to treat Dixie, and of course we said yes. Her surgery and care totaled a staggering $1,878 and Dixie is still in foster care.
Please help us raise enough to cover Dixie’s medical expenses and find her a loving fur-ever home.
A-PAL Humane Society was founded in 1978 to insure the humane treatment of animals in Amador County. A-PAL Humane Society has accomplished many positive changes in our county including starting a save the kittens program, a pit-bull spay and neuter program, shelter dog walking, help with spay and neuter costs for low income residents, and even taking in special needs animals like Dixie who need extra care before they can be adopted.
It means so much to us at A-PAL Humane Society to see our county's animals happy and healthy and we would NEVER achieve that goal if it weren't for generous supporters like you.
