Our time to help Dave Murray

Dave Murray is the kind of person who is always willing to help others. Three weeks ago he was on his way to help his mother move. Upon arrival he was hardly able to get out of the car due to the pain in his abdomen being so severe. Despite family members telling him to take it easy, he spent the next two days helping. That is the kind of person he is, always ready to help.


The pain in his abdomen continued, leading him to schedule an appointment. The doctors performed a CT scan and discovered a mass on his liver that was consistent with cancer. He was then referred to the Mayo clinic in Rochester. After a week of testing he was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma - bile duct cancer. This is a very aggressive and rare form of cancer. It was determined that due to the size of the mass, his cancer was inoperable and has spread to his lymph nodes. Even though the cancer can be resistant to chemotherapy, he is starting the treatment on Friday June 1st and fighting for his life.


Dave's life changed forever after the diagnosis. He is now faced with financial hardship due the staggering amount of debt that he is quickly accruing. This also adds onto the $10,000 in debt incurred from a heart attack Dave suffered from in 2017. He is no longer able to work due to his illness and will lose his benefits shortly.


Despite the fact that Dave is always ready to help others, he is not the kind of guy to ask for help himself. This is the reason we are asking. Anything you can share will be greatly appreciated…not only to cover medical costs, but to support the costs of day-to-day living for him, Pam and his family that many of us take for granted.


As Dave said, "I am going to fight this monster and win!".
