Please Help Danielle Linfoot

$100,000 of $150,000 goal

Raised by 1,016 people in 20 months

Danielle is a loving, hard working mom, wife and friend .  Their family has been a part of the Pitt Meadows community for over 15 years.  Danielle and Shawn have been together for 21 years and are the proud parents of two wonderful children.

We have the privilege of having Danielle watch our own children through her business  "Stepping Stones Daycare".  It isn't easy leaving your children in another person's care, but with Danielle, it is.  She treats every child as if they are her own.  This is because, to her, they ARE family.

Last week, Danielle became ill with what the family thought was the flu.  Her symptoms worsened to the point that her husband had to call an ambulance to get her to the hospital.  After the doctor's assessment, it was determined that Danielle's life was in danger and she was sent to an ICU unit that could provide her with the proper care required to save her.  The cause of her illness is unsure, but she is now on life support with 24 hour care and machines keeping her alive to help her fight this unknown illness.  Her family and friends are by her side doing everything they can to help her chances of recovery.

This unimaginable situation is obviously a huge emotional stress on the family.  Her husband, Shawn, is holding the family together and staying strong for their two kids.  He will not be at work in the near future as he is supporting his wife and kids at the hospital.  This situation can add financial stress to anyone in this situation.  They are an amazing family and we would like to help them so that they can all be together during this difficult time.

Any contribution will help.  Thank you for your consideration.

xo

UPDATE!

After 10 months of being in the hospital and working so incredibly hard at GF Strong, Danielle is coming home to Pitt Meadows today with her family! This is a very exciting and emotional time for all of them. As much as everyone is excited to see her, please understand that they will need some time for adjusting to being at home together before having visitors. Danielle and Shawn appreciate everyone's love and support and will let everyone know when they are ready to have company.

They also asked to again, say a HUGE, genuine THANK YOU to everyone that has donated and helped them throughout this past year. The money that you have donated will/have been be used to give Danielle a functional life by allowing them to have
a wheelchair accessible van, an elevator being installed in their house, safety features throughout their house (ramps, grab bars, hardware, keyless entry), special bed, prosthetic maintenance and upgrades and hopefully much more.

They will continue to have to adapt areas in their life as things change with Danielle. Please continue to share her story to help with the fundraising.

Thank you again to everyone for your love, support and generosity. It still warms my heart to see how so many communities have come together to help a great family.

xo

UPDATE: Great news!! Danielle has been moved to GF Strong. Shawn says that it is going well and Danielle is settling in.

She is going to be very busy in this next chapter to get her home. Prosthetics fittings, exercises, etc. She will be available for visits after 4pm on the weekdays and any time on the weekends.

As we have mentioned before, these prosthetics are VERY expensive. We are still fundraising for the family. Please continue to share her story and hopefully Danielle's story will touch people's hearts and they will want to help too!!

Any new fundraising events will be updated once we know! ❤️

I lost all four of my limbs in 2015. If Danielle needs another voice to talk to I am always available for her because I know exactly what she's going through. There is a Facebook site called the quad squad that was very beneficial to me as I was going through my recovery.

Extraordinary bravery from the entire family. Stay strong together, you are not alone. You will get through this by being together and knowing that this is a temporary state. Danielle has lots of healing to do, pain to get through. Focus on the small victories and overcoming the challenges every single day. Sending you lots of love and healing during this challenging time.

Hi Danielle. My prayers are with you and your family as you live out this nightmare. My question to you is how could this happen while inbthe Hospital? Were the doctors and nurses not keeping up on your illness? How could ganggrene develop while under the care od doctors, in a hospital bed? I think you would be wise to consult a laywer. Once again, my prayers are with you. May you heal heart and body. As hard as it may be, i admire your pos attitude. Robin Smith

Such sad news about your friend... she sounds like a strong woman and that she has many people around her that love her and care for her. Ashley, are you able to tell us if the doctors know what happened and what she got to make her so sick? Thanks I appreciate it.

I want to honor you today by helping you forge ahead with continued courage and tenacity in your journey. A dear friend, actually a soul mate, passed away yesterday. During our conversations last week, we talked about you and your tenacity in coping with the cards you were dealt. When we worked together, one of the main mantras she spoke of during crisis was "pick up the pieces, move on, and make the best of things!" We agreed, though, that you have raised the bar with your courage! You win hands down. Take care.
