Help Caden Study In Norway!
Hi, everyone. This is my nephew, Caden. He currently attends CATS Academy in Braintree.
Caden's a hero of mine for a number of reasons. At 16, he's a 4H Ambassador for Plymouth County, a member of the National Honor Society at CATS, and a camp counselor at Weir River Farm. He's been attending Model UN since he was in seventh grade, and last year obtained a perfect score on the National Latin Exam - something only 01% of the students who took the exam achieved.
(I don't know about you all, but when I was 16 I was blowing off homework to learn Suzanne Vega songs on the guitar.)
Caden sees himself going into politics as a career, and, because so many of his classmates at CATS are from other countries, wants to study abroad in an effort to understand them, and the world, better. Through ASSE, an international student exchange program, he would have the opportunity to go to Norway, a country he's been particularly fascinated with.
The problem is money. He was recently turned down for a scholarship (the only one available, which was offered nation-wide) which would have covered most of the costs for him to go (insurance, flight, host family, and other program costs). We estimate that this will come to around $6,000, and have only until May to confirm that he can go.
Caden is a brilliant young man, even though I give him a lot of crap (that's my job as his weirdo aunt). I would really love to see this happen for him, and any help you could give would be so appreciated.
Thanks for reading!
