My Journey & My Dream Growing up, I was in a bad situation, to say the least. My mother was addicted to narcotics, and my father was in and out of prison. Most days, I was content just to know that I had enough food to eat and someplace safe to fall asleep. Then, my mother’s light was blown out. It was tragic, but through that tragedy, I started to realize my dreams. Living with relatives, I was afforded the opportunity to participate in recreational sports for the first time in my life. I discovered a passion for cheerleading, committing myself to the sport and learning the values of hard work, discipline and teamwork. It turned out that I had a gift for cheerleading, and it fueled success in every area of my life from then on: my confidence, my success, my academics.  If I was not exposed to the “world of cheerleading” I do not believe I would have graduated from college. According to the Aspen Institute, children who participate in sports have 40% higher test scores and are 15% more likely to go to college. Now, I want to “pay it forward” so to speak. My goal is to turn Boston Factory into a safe space where young ladies can uncover their own talents, build their confidence, and create a foundation for brighter days ahead. This gym will serve underprivileged girls specifically, offering youth cheerleading and youth fitness training.  What I Need & What You Get I have come to you, for help raising $25,000. These funds will cover the costs of launching Boston Factory and then marketing the organization to potential participants in the area. Risks & Challenges  The biggest challenge to making Boston Factory work is getting the initial funding together. I am motivated to make this concept work, so once I get some initial momentum, I know that I can parlay that momentum into long-term success.  The Impact Growing up, I was thrilled to find out that there was something out there that I could work at, something that I could be great at, something that could take my mind off all the stresses of everyday life. I want to pass that on to other girls like me!  Other Ways You Can Help  Aside from making a monetary contribution, you can show your support for what I am doing by sharing the campaign link on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media platforms you use. All your support means the world to me, friends, and I thank you for taking the time to read about what I am doing! www.bostonfactoryinc.com  https://www.instagram.com/bostonfactory/?hl=en
