Help Betty Restart



On Monday August 28 hurricane Harvey ripped through Texas causing widespread flooding and devastation. I, Bootsie Miller, am raising money to help my grandmother.

My grandmother, Betty Johnson, who lives alone on the Colorado river in LaGrange Texas (my grandfather passed away August 28, 2015) was rescued by airboat but unfortunately her house did not make it. It suffered about two feet of water and damage throughout.

My family and I drove down overnight from Fairfax, Virginia and we are here temporarily staying with friends and helping with cleanup and salvaging what we can.

We are currently waiting for a FEMA assessment and long term solutions, but short term we need help offsetting the cost of food, eventually finding different shelter (we can't stay with our friends forever), supplies for recovering household items (masks, bins, gloves, etc).  My grandmother also has two rescue dogs (Jack and Sadie) and funds will be used to purchase fresh dog food, medicine and supplies.

I will be returning home soon, but my mother will be staying with my grandmother throughout this ordeal. ALL donations will go to Betty Johnson and our efforts to help her start over. Any donation is wonderful and we deeply appreciate it.

Funds will be withdrawn as necessary to help pay for supplies and reimbursement my parents for using their personal funds. We have our receipts and are happy to document the effort. Since this is such an emotional time I would prefer to manage the money for everyone so they have less to worry about.
