Young mother died. Please help.
$18,020 of $70,000 goal
On Wednesday, at 9:30 AM on January 25th, Tiffany Alexander died unexpectedly in a tragic fire in St. Paul MN. Her son, William, and her nephew, Gabe, were badly burned. William and Gabe are in critical condition and are being treated in the burn unit at Regions Hospital. Her mother, Tereza “Tessi” Alexander, suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation as she tried to get the children to safety. She is in a coma in critical condition.
Tiffany’s family is in shock and deeply saddened by her sudden loss. The injuries to the babies and the loss of their beloved family member have left them reeling in shock. Tiffany has left behind a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son, who will now grow up without their mother, if the boy survives. The children will now be raised by family members, many of whom do not have the resources to pay the very real financial obligations that come with a new family member.
With all of this emotional stress, physical pain, injuries, and worry come the financial obligations that this type of tragedy brings. There is the cost of burying a mother who died tragically and much too soon. There is the medical bills and ongoing care that these children will need, should they survive. There is the cost of Desiny’s (Tiffany’s daughter) education and care. Any monies raised will go first to bury this young mother, next to pay outstanding medical bills, and any further monies to go to the children for their needs.
It is in these times of loss and sadness when you see people coming together to help on another make it through, to support the people we care for. Any amount of money you can spare to donate would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the story in the Star Tribune:
Tiffany Alexander and William Mangan, who passed in the fire and due to injuries, were cremated and a memorial service was held for them last Friday. Their family and friends gathered to celebrate their lives with a service, shared pictures, memorial videos, and social gathering for their loved ones.
Tessy, Tiffany’s mom and William’s grandmother, is recovering from her injuries. She is home now with family to continue the long healing process. She has skin grafts to her burns with severe injuries to her face, hands, and head. The doctors feel that she will recover and heal from her injuries.
Gabe, Tiffany’s nephew, is still recovering from his burns as well.
My wife and I wanted to thank all those kind people who donated to the Alexander family in their time of need. Also thank you to Mike McHugh, a local attorney in Hendricks, for assisting us in putting the donated funds into a temporary trust account until payments could be made.
Your kind donations were used towards funeral expenses. A portion was sent to Tessy, mother and grandmother to the deceased and badly burned in the incident herself, to help with costs of starting over after she lost everything. After funeral expenses and assistance to Tessy, we sent the remaining amount to a close family member who is setting up trust accounts for Gabe and Destinee, Tiffany’s nephew and daughter. We had already closed the account so no one could donate more funds to this fundraiser. Again, thank you for your kind support and we look forward to update you when the family members let us know more about the funds they are establishing for the children.
