Story

Caryl and Ed Crasnick are devoted and loving parents to a wonderful 13-year old daughter. In June of 2017 she was diagnosed with the Eating Disorder Anorexia Nervosa.  Caryl is a teacher and has helped hundreds of kids during her 30-year career, and now she and Ed need your help. The year has included many visits to the ER, hospital stays, working with various treatment centers and living in another city for 4 months to get the best evidence-based treatment.Anorexia is a very destructive disease and requires continuous parental supervision and consistent treatment from medical and mental health care professionals. The journey to full recovery is a slow, long and expensive process. We feel confident they are up to the task. This week, the family is starting a 9 month program at Westside DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) where they will learn the skills necessary to manage and eventually conquer the painful emotions and urges that come with having Anorexia. This program is NOT covered by insurance and this is why we are asking for your help to pay for treatment. Please, if at all possible, help Caryl and Ed continue to assist their daughter. Your support, no matter how small, will keep her on the path to full recovery. Thanks so much and please share to your social media.
