Hi everyone!

Hoping you are well. To friends, family, loved ones, and those I haven't spoken to in a while, please know you are fondly in my thoughts. You may have been wondering where I've been.

For the past years, I've been attending American University (AU) in Washington, DC. I'm one of the first people in my family to go to college. My father, retired from serving the U.S. government for over thirty years, and mother, a Vietnam War refugee, were in no means able to support me to go to school.

Nevertheless, though I may not have started out with the same advantages as most of my peers, I could never complain about the amazing opportunities I had to further my education. I knew that with education and hard work, I deserve and am just as capable as anyone else regardless of my humble background.

Thus for the past six years, from waitressing, to retail, to baby-sitting, I've been working any and all odd jobs possible just to support myself, pay for tuition, and take a chance at internships I believed could propel me forward in life, and help move me towards my dream of graduating from college.

I don't know how I did it-but with an immense amount of grit, sweat, never-ending belief in my capabilities, and a bit of luck, I was able to land prestigious internships at places such as U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. House of Representatives, CCTV America, and the U.S. Department of State.

Sadly, just this semester, I was turned down for any form of financial aid. Ironically, university regulations also prevent me from taking anymore time off, which I already did to work and save up for tuition. As a result, I am endangered to be forced to permanently leave the university. With only one semester away from graduation, this has been of great emotional and financial hardship.

I hold myself to high standards. Close friends know that I do not ask for help often, and I have always worked hard to rely on myself to overcome obstacles-sometimes to a fault. This time-I humbly ask for your help. If you can in anyway support my dream of graduating please do.

Kindly share my video to anyone you can to help me get the word out, so I may finish my last semester of college. No matter how big or small, anything will make a difference.

You have no idea how much your help means to me.

Much love and appreciation,
Ash
