Shelter for our homeless brothers

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Novi Stjenik Sisterhood is asking for your help to purchase a container house for their convent Uteshiteljevo  near Belgrade for taking in some of our brothers in Christ who are in need.

They have some young men in the parish who have very difficult lives and to whom spending time at the monastery means very much to them - as much as a matter of life and death.

At the monastery they have a second home, with the comforts of good food, friendship, work, and above all, drawing closer to Christ through attending the divine services and being ministered to by our clergy. 

The sisters themselves live in very poor conditions, but they feel it urgent that they offer these poor martyrs a place to live, if only a modest one for starters,  as soon as possible. 


The money they are asking for should cover the cost of a small living container as well as the neccesary furnishings.

Tax-deductible donations can also be made through St. Irene's parish (Detroit, Michigan) by checks written to St. Irene GOC, with "Serbia - container" in the memo, and sent to:
