Please continue to keep Robert in your prayers.
We are so grateful for all the prayers and donations to help my brother Robert through his first month of chemotherapy treatments. Thankyou especially to our family and friends for helping to reach our initial financial goal!

Rob was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Last month, after many tests, he was diagnosed with  Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or ALL. He was in the hospital for one month to undergo chemotherapy.  He was just discharged and will now receive weekly chemo treatments as an outpatient. His doctor said it may be a long two years before he is done with all the  treatments and tests for his illness. We are all hoping for a quick and permanent remission.

I know Rob won't ask, but  I am.  Would you consider helping Rob through this very challenging time?  Please  also keep him in your prayers for a full recovery.

This past year was already filled with many challenges for Rob. He  just started a new job a few months ago, when he started getting fevers, night sweats, and then pain.  He was hospitalized  since the end of July with no sick leave, coverage or benefits.

Feel free to drop him a call on his cell  or send him a text to wish him well.

Rob is too proud to ask for help. But as his older sister, I know he can use all the help and support that he can get right now and on his on his long road ahead. And who better to ask but his family and friends.

All My Love & Thanks,
Ellen

Hi,

Just wanted to update you on Rob's progress this week. A recent bone marrow test showed that his Leukemia has been reduced by his treatment which is encouraging news. He has received out patient treatments for the past two weeks for four out of seven days each week.

This past weekend Rob got a haircut as you will see from the attached photo. He looks great! He also required a blood transfusion on Saturday because his platelets were low.

On Monday, he had a fever which required hospitalization. He is still at North Shore Manhassett hospital now. His fever ranges from 102 to 105 degrees. He is on antibiotics & fluids. This is what is called neutropenic. With neutropenia, the body has a low level of neutrophils. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell. White blood cells help the body fight infection.

If you have Rob's number, send him a get well text. He is feeling a bit down and I'm sure he would love to hear from you. He obviously doesn't have the energy to talk, so a text works for now, but he will as soon as this fever passes.

Looking at my "baby brother" in the hospital bed reminds me that no matter how strong or robust or healthy you are, it all can change any given moment. This morning I am especially thankful for my health & the love I am surrounded by in my life.

Love to All,
Ellen
Thumbs Up.

Rob is holding up very well so far. He is in a good space mentally and feeling strong physically. He's eating well & enjoying his late night Marinos italian ices most.
He slept very soundly last night which he needed. This week is a big week for his treatments. Today, he faces his lumbar puncture procedure, which is chemotherapy injected into his spine. Tomorrow, his usual weekly chemotherapy injection and drip and by the weekend a new treatment which will bring him to the completion of his third week of treatment. With his laptop by his side, don't be surpised if you receive an email from him soon. xo Ellen
