Zulma Sosa is from the city of Limpio, Paraguay. In 2015 Zulma was in a car accident when she was taking her 2 children to school.  A reckless driver ran them over (the driver was going in zig zag trying to avoid a dog) killing her youngest son Elias, and leaving her daughter Shirley with severe neurological injuries. Zulma also lost her left leg which had to be amputated. Her left arm was saved but left with visible scars and injuries that prevent her from having good mobility and coordination. 

Before this accident, Zulma worked at a gas station, where she was a cashier. She is a single mother who provided for her children and helped her mother as well.  After the accident, Zulma was unable to return to work and now her elder mother is working jobs like doing laundry or cleaning homes to try to provide for Zulma and her daughter. They need our help. 

This fundraiser is to raise money more specifically for a hip disarticulation prosthesis for Zulma that will allow her to be able to walk again and return to work. She already has the prescription for it from a Doctor in Paraguay but she does not have the means to make such a large purchase. (See quote from the provider and prescription below) Both Shirley and Zulma still have pending surgeries. 
Prosthesis cost: Gs. 81.920.000 = $13,710 (currency rate $1= Gs.5,975)

Please contribute to this cause. I met Zulma personally in one of my past visits to Paraguay and I witnessed the conditions this family lives in. She needs the help of every kind soul to be able to walk again.

Zulma es de la ciudad de Limpio, Paraguay. En el 2015 Zulma estuvo en un accidente de tránsito cuando llevaba a sus 2 hijos a la escuela. Una conductora distraída (que estaba yendo en zig zag tratando de esquivar un perro) chocó a los tres, matando al hijo más pequeño, Elías,  dejando a su hija Shirley con heridas neurológicas severas y a Zulma con heridas graves que derivaron en la amputación de toda su pierna izquierda y secuelas en el brazo izquierdo que le impiden movilidad y coordinación. 

Antes del accidente, Zulma trabajaba como cajera en una estación de servicio. Zulma es madre soltera y ella proveía para su familia y también ayudaba a su madre. Después del accidente, no pudo regresar a su trabajo y por ende ahora mismo se encuentra sin los medios para cubrir todos los gastos que representa el estado de salud en el que se encuentra Shirley y ella misma, además de los gastos que siempre los tuvo. Su anciana madre está haciendo trabajos de lavandería
y de empleada para tratar de ganar un poco de dinero para cubrir algunos gastos, pero es insuficiente. Ellas de verdad necesitan de nuestra ayuda y Zulma lo que quiere de verdad es volver a trabajar.  Conseguir esa prótesis la va a ayudar a volver a caminar. 


Esta recaudación está dirigida directamente a juntar dinero para conseguir la prótesis para desarticulación completa de cadera para Zulma para que ella vuelva a caminar. Zulma ya cuenta con la receta médica y presupuesto de la casa de prótesis Ceidor. (La receta y presupuesto están en las fotos más arriba). Ambas Shirley y Zulma tienen costosas cirugías pendientes y fisioterapias costosas. Zulma me comentó que gasta mucho dinero en taxi
