Help with Medications and Hospital

Donation protected

Friends, I need assistance because my Medicare was canceled in July and I have had Medicare since I began dialysis in 2003, for four years to when I received my kidney transplant in 2007.  Now I have to pay out-of-pocket for the two anti-rejection medicines that keep my transplant viable along with 6 other medications.  Without the insurance, I can no longer afford my anti-rejection medications for my kidney transplant which would lead to the rejection of the transplant and I would have to return to dialysis which costs hundreds of thousands more than medications to maintain the transplant I have.  I also had to pay for two hospitalizations I had during the Summer, which I detail in the next paragraph.

I was informed by Medicare that I am no longer disabled; however, my Crohn's Disease is what makes me disabled along with the care for my transplant.  Crohn's Disease is a chronic illness I will have for the rest of my life along with maintaining my transplant.  I had my entire large intestine removed and I suffer from constant chronic pain and hourly trips to the bathroom due to the lack of my large intestine.  I have been calling weekly since July and I am appealing the cancelation of my insurance, which I can only assume may be due to changes by our government.  My doctors have written letters on my behalf stating I'm permanently disabled.  It is a slow process . . .

I also incurred around a 10k bill in mid-July because I had to be hospitalized for a blood transfusion due to a Crohn's flare up causing my blood count to drop to a 5.5.  A month later at the beginning of September, I had a partial bowel obstruction causing another hospitalization which I have every 6 to 8 months due to the many surgeries I have gone through.  I thought I could pay for the hospital bills myself with bank loans and credit cards, but unfortunately, this has made me late with monthly bills, such as the mortgage and utilities.  There is also an outstanding debt from going to the emergency room the first time when I was unaware of my Medicare cancelation and has been sent to collections.

The funds I need assistance with will allow me to purchase the 8 monthly medications that I require.  I also need funds to help pay for my hospitalizations this past Summer.  Additional funds will assist me in receiving bi-monthly blood tests to make sure my kidney is functioning and to receive sessions with a psychologist since my medical issues are having a detrimental effect on my mental health.  My situation is urgent to receive my medications, pay these hospital bills, and including any tests I need for my kidney transplant and Crohn's Disease.

The immunosuppressant medications have maintained my kidney transplant for 11 years and without the medications, I would have to return to dialysis.  Receiving a transplant has given me a better quality of life; whereas being on dialysis, it was physically and mentally draining on my body and mind.  I would be a superhero with my kidney transplant if it wasn't for my Crohn's Disease and the pain along with the constant bathroom trips I make hourly.

Another way to help is to consider being an organ donor if you are not one already.  I have no idea who the person was who donated their organs when they passed away and I am forever grateful for their selfless gift to me upon receiving my kidney 11 years ago.

I appreciate any and all assistance is given to me and can not fully express my gratitude.  Hopefully, the problem with my insurance will be resolved within a few more months.  Thank you.
