Woodrow Wear was founded more than nine years ago to help people and pets. We're based in San Jose, California, and right now, we're feeling surrounded by fires, and overwhelmed by the need to help pets injured in those fires. We are donating many sets of our Power Paws (socks). We will be sending them to the veterinarians and organizations that are actively working with the animals right now.

Our original thought was to send 100 sets of Power Paws, splitting that between Northern California and Southern California . We posted on our Facebook page about our intention to donate socks for those working with the injured pets. We got an immediate response, and we raised our offer to 200 sets. One phone call later, we were connected to Paw Works in Southern California, and their need is for 300+ sets. We publicly raised our offer to 500 sets. One more phone call to the Little Angels Project in Southern California, and all 500 sets were claimed with nothing left for Northern California. We raised our offer again, this time to 1000 sets of Power Paws!!

We can't do this alone! Today, we're reaching out to you because the cost of the socks exceeds what we can do. Will you help us provide more socks to help the pets injured in the Woosley fire, the Hill Fire, and the Camp fire?

Power Paws are a sock-based indoor/outdoor traction solution for pets. Indoors, they provide traction on slick floors. They are soft and warm, and will comfort the injured animals as they heal from burns and other injures. Outdoors, Power Paws protect paws from heat (to about 300 degrees!), and snow, and allergens. Right now, the vets are planning to use Power Paws to help wounds heal after burns and after surgery. They will use them to provide traction on slippery surfaces, either because the pet is older and arthritic, or because the bandages make paws slippery. And they will use them to keep dust, dirt, grass, and allergens off healing paws.  For some pets, Power Paws will provide warmth, because hair/fur has been burned. What ever the need, we want to provide as many sets of Power Paws as possible. And we need your help.

We have boxes of socks ready to pack up and ship. We hope to get them on the way in this week. We will be very thankful for any help you can provide. With your help, we can meet the need to help dogs and cats with soft, warm, comfortable, healing socks while they recover. More help means we will be able to donate more socks to the pets, and the vets who are caring for them.

Thank you!

Friends, we're happy to report that 1000 sets of Power Paws have been donated to 6 groups/agencies in California. Many cats and dogs have benefited from the comfort, healing, and traction Power Paws provide. These photos come from the Butte County Humane Society with comments about how the cats didn't mind the socks, how they preferred the socks over e-collars, and how the animals without traction due to burns or ligament injuries really benefited! We're willing to send another 300 sets if anyone is inclined to help...

Friends, your donations have helped us send 900 sets of Power Paws to the cats and dogs that need them. We hope to close out this week by topping 1000 sets. That's a lot of happy pets with wiggly tails! Thank you for your help!
