Help Vets Fight For Their Rights

The American Legion Sixth Memorial Post 1833 wants to thank everyone one for their support and contributions over the American flag bench issue.
Right now we are in a legal battle with our new neighbor. He is a developer name Samuel Chiu and has been harassing the American Legion and the Vets with calling authorities; complaining about our American flag bench, placing cameras into our doorway and has served the Vets with an order to vacate our yard/egress area by 8/13/18. He has made statements that the bench is an “eyesore”.
In addition, has sent a “representative” in the Legion several times to buy the Legion’s building, stating that there’s another legion 2 blocks away that we can move to.
We have been using the side yard for over 35 years as a second egress in case of a fire or emergency, to enjoy BBQ’s and to get fresh air.
The Legion has consulted a law firm about this and they are ready to fight for the Vets. Although they gave the Legion a discount, we still need to raise the money for the retainer and to follow the case through.
We have our original “go fund me” page set up. However, the priorities of the Legion is shifting from upgrading our facility to now maintaining our rights.
Join our cause to help fight this harassing developer  and keep our egress.

The American Legion Post 1833 is asking for donations to help prepare our storefront for an American Flag to be painted on it by America’s Artist SCOTT LOBAIDO.

Scott has painted American flags for the last 25 years and has been featured on Cnn’s Anderson Cooper, Fox’s Bill O’reilly, And Fox & Friends, and was named “Person Of The Week” On Abc’s World News Tonight. His work can be found on schools, fire houses, police stations and American Legion Halls across the country. Scott has volunteered to paint an American flag on American Legion Post 1833.

The preparation will include:

• Removing of 2 old A/C units

• Closing the A/C openings

• Scraping & patching facade

• Replace A/C units with updated models

• Repair and paint cornice that was burnt in neighboring fire

• Cleaning & priming the building

• Paint American Flag
