Our friend, Jack Ramsey, has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, and we, his family and friends, want to help Jack provide for the continuing care of his wife, Rachel, and two small children, and to help cover medical costs beyond what insurance may pay.
Jack has played an important role in the lives of us all and in the lives of our children. More often than not, Jack was seen surrounded by our children whom he cared for at the Y. We love Jack and our children have loved him even more.
"Friends, words fail at times like these, but community does not. Maybe you know Jack personally; maybe you've met him and didn't even realize it; maybe you don't live in Boise, but know a Jack in your community:
He's that guy at the Y taking care of our neighborhood kids with love, dignity, and respect. Showing up, being present, and being the male role model that so many need and all deserve.
He's the friendly face running around in the park with a gaggle of kids, jumping right in and having fun with them, but ready with a gentle voice when it's needed.
He's the bus driver dropping off and picking up kids throughout the neighborhood before and after school, always ready with a honk and a wave.
He's the friend with a huge heart who loves unconditionally and supports his friends whenever and however he can.
He never misses marking a date with a postcard - birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, just because days.
Now it's our turn. Let's all show Jack & Rachel our love and support. Show them how all the love Jack has given his friends, our kids, and our community can come back and bless his family right now. Jack’s diagnosis and prognosis is devastating. His brain tumor is too large and too aggressive for surgery. He has been told that his life expectancy is short. The tumor is large and is growing rapidly. It is the same type of tumor that Beau Biden died from. Jack is not able to talk on the phone and the family has asked for privacy.
