Tax deductible
December 13th, 2012 Eric and I added a new member to the Leaps n Boundz family. We purchased a 2011 Ford 15 passenger van so that both Leaps n Boundz and the REACHability Foundation could access the community with ease.
Leaps n Boundz depends on using the van to be able to access the local community on a daily basis. Each and every program we have uses the van. We use it to transport equiptment so we can bring our program onto local school campuses. It is used to transport our swim team as they compete against other local adaptive swim teams. Our camp program uses the van for weekly field trips, as well as sleep away camp opportunities. Community LEAPS uses the van to travel together on community outings. Our adult program took on a volunteer position with Meals on Wheels delivering food to those who do not have the ability to leave their homes. Our staff use it to travel to conferences together and the REACHability Foundation uses it on supported travel opportunities for families.
There is not a week that goes by in which the van sits empty and unused. We rely on it weekly..DAILY in fact!
On the morning on May 27th, 2017 we learned that this intregal member of our family was stolen. The disapointment lays more so that its absence leaves a giant hole in our community accessibility as well as our programming as a whole.
Funds raised will go towards the purchase and wrapping of a new 15 passenger van. The REACHability Foundation will be recieving all donations (and purchasing the new van) so your generous donations will all be 100% tax deductible!
