Help Malasia and Me

Donation protected

My name is Tiffany C Wingate and this is my story.  I am a single mother of three children, two boys and a girl residing in Baltimore, MD.  Two of my children are special needs children due to conditions that arose during or just after birth.  My oldest son, Haki, suffers from Autism and ADHD while my oldest daughter, Malasia suffers from Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis and is legally blind, suffering from reflux and seizures.  My partner, the father of Haki and Malasia decided not to be a part of nor support his children in any way shape or form inspite of them both being special needs children, with our daughter Malasias' situation being the most desperate and critical.

With both of my children being special needs, Malasia being severely handicapped, I qualify for some assistance from the state of Maryland. That coverage includes 56 hours of nursing care, medication, hospital stays and treatments, transportation and doctors appointments.
However, what the state does not cover is lost wages and expenses incurred while transporting my daughter to and from doctors visits, the cost of staying at home when nursing care is unavailable or the cost of paying a nurse or specialized baby sitter outside of regular hours. Medical equipment such as a wheel chair, lifts, specialized car seats or retrofitting a vehicle to allow transportation of my daughter or the building of ramps that would facilitate the use of specialized equipment are also not covered by the state.  As I stated there is no support from the father of the children, nor family or friends, which makes it virtually impossible for me to hold a job in any profession or field (my profession is insurance).

Due to the circumstances I now have very little income or resources to support my family or pay for the specialized care to manage my daughter's needs.  The demanding yet unpredictable nature of my daughters health care needs in light of not being able to afford care for her makes it impossible for me to hold regular employment of any kind.  My monthly intake is $730 which is largely based upon disability care for my daughter Malasia and $160 in child support.  My debt load each month is $1330.  As my daughter is constantly in and out of the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) it is impossible to keep a regular job as I cannot afford daily care for her.

After all is said and done the yearly cost for my daughters' care, basic home care and life maintenance come out to $45,000.  I am appealing for aid as I have no full time employment options at this time and am getting by on state assistance and a low paying part time job.

I am appealing for help from anyone who can contribute towards the the cost of my daughters health care,  basic survival cost and household bills.  I will be thankful for any donations which would allow me to at least purchase the medical equipment I am currently not able to purchase such as a wheel chair or specialized car seats and additional nurse support.  Thank you for your time and whatever support you can give.
