Help to follow God's Calling!

My name is Anna, I am 18 years old, graduated from high school last Spring, and am now discerning a religious vocation. I have felt a call to the religious life since early childhood, and am in the process of seeking the religious order God is calling me to. I am seriously discerning a vocation with The Sister Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Discerning with them requires more than the other orders I have considered, as their Motherhouse in in Italy, and discerners must travel there to see the life at their convent, and whether this order is for them. International travel, as you may know, costs a lot. Following God’s call in this means a lot to me and I would be so grateful for your prayers and any financial help you can give!

I have been working to earn money towards my vocational discernment, plus having Garage Sales and other fund-raising efforts. But, right now, my funds are not enough for what is needed for this trip(passport, plane ticket, money for food, etc. during travel., train ticket to the convent, etc. ), and other needs for the first year of postulancy, etc. My parents are very supportive and thrilled about my call to the religious life, and would love to help if they could. But, unfortunately their finances don’t give them much ability to help with these needs. Now, with a more definite choice of a religious order set before me, and plans being put into motion for travel there, the need is all the greater to raise the funds needed!

I hope to visit their Convent this summer, and to go on to enter if I still feel a definite call after visiting, but need your help to make this happen. I would be very thankful for any donation you can give (even $5 helps!) and especially your prayers, as I follow God’s call. A BIT ABOUT MY VOCATION STORY:

I have felt called to religious life since I was very little... Throughout this time of discernment I have explored many orders and corresponded with a number of different communities, but kept coming back to the Sister Adorers and Carmelites(my other favorite order).  One of the things that draws me to the Sister Adorers is that a major part of their work is prayer and sacrifices for the sanctification of the priests of the Institute. This means a lot to me, as the Institute and their priests have played such a huge role in my formation in the Faith. They are awesome! I also love their devotion to the Heart of Jesus and holding Mary as their principal patroness, both of which are devotions that are close to my heart, as well. Their daily life involves: Mass in the Extraordinary Form, the Divine Office, Mental prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, the Holy Rosary, study and intellectual training, manual labor, learning things like sewing, lace making, and the making and care of altar linens and priestly vestments. I really love the nuns I’ve met of the Sister Adorers, their order, and what I’ve seen of their way of life, and am really looking forward to going to visit and see if their life is what I am called to!
