Hello fighting game community,
we are the Virtual Dojo Vienna, the first fighting game club of its kind in German speaking territories!
We are a group of different people sharing the same passion, FIGHTING GAMES.
That's why we, a bunch of grown men (most of us), decided to rent some space in the basement of an apartment building. There we got our own equipment (consoles and screens, sticks, you name it) to host casuals on a daily basis and monthly tournaments, and a living room styled zone to chill and talk with friends. The VDV runs on a membership basis. For a monthly fee anyone can come as often as they like, or buy a One-Day-membership if they cannot come regularly. The money collected this way goes towards paying rent. Anything that's left over is saved for harder times or spent on new equipment, interior etc. We are entirely a non-profit-organisation!
We are supporting every fighting game you can possibly think of, from SFV and GGXrdR to Smash Melee and even oldschool Neogeo and CPS2 games played on original arcade hardware.
The Virtual Dojo Vienna exists since November 2010 and is currently residing in its 2nd location in the 16th district of Vienna. However, because the community got too big, because we have problems with moldy walls and because there's no heating in Winter, it is time for us to move out!
After searching for endless months, we finally found
a new location which fits our needs in the 2nd district of Vienna. However, despite being able to save up quite a large sum of money, it still isn't enough to cover all costs associated with the moving process. We will still move into the new location 100%, but it comes at the cost of the leading members having to advance on money. We are currently collecting donations from our members to help ease the financial burden, but if you want to help us out as well, now is your chance to do so!
The money donated to us will be spent on paying for all kinds of fees needed to move into the new location (brokerage, security deposit, etc.). Anything that's left over will be spent on new equipment like consoles, sticks, spare parts or furniture for our members.
