Today September 13,2018 the Soto’s started their day just like any other day not knowing their lives would be changing dramatically. As many people know but, if you don’t know their were many fires and explosions today in Lawrence, Andover, and North Andover due to a gas line explosion with the Colombia Gas Company. Unfortunately the Soto’s house were one of the many that caught on fire. Veronica and Ivan have two daughters  Destiny is 15 and Aalyah is 13 and they all have lost everything they own. They purchased their home almost 3 years ago (it would be 3 years in November) and now without a thought have to find a new place to live. Veronica just opened up her own hair studio this year and Ivan just became a Lawrence Police officer this year as well. This power couple have been trying so hard to make it on top and just when they did this horrible disaster happened. I used to work with Veronica and became very close with her. She and her family are the type who would give the shirts off their backs for anyone in need. Let’s all get together and help out this amazing family so they can get back up on their feet! Any donation is much appreciated and thank you so much in advance!

Update!!!! From Veronica: It's been a week now. A week since I last woke up in my bed, in our home. A week since I last got to see my Aalyah leave the house to walk to school like she did every day while I dropped Destiny off at Central. A week since I last helped Ivan with the velcro straps on his vest like I did every single morning because it made me feel better knowing that I made sure it was secure. A week since I last made ice coffee for Ivan because it was the only way he would drink coffee in the mornings, at home atleast. A week since I last said, "I love you boys, see ya later after work. Be good...." to my boys Milo & Simba. A week ago since I last pulled out of our driveway, closed the garage door and as I slowly drove away I always turned my head to make sure the garage door was closed, because sometimes it would get stuck, and the house was good. A week since I had a wonderful day at the studio with wonderful clients and a positive outlook on life. A week since my world was rocked and changed forever. A week since the phone call from my husband that the city was in chaos and no one knew what was happening. A week since I had to maintain focus and stay calm while on the phone I guided Destiny out of the house when we realized SOMETHING was wrong. A week since everything that was our lives was ripped away so suddenly and viciously. A week has gone by and it seems like an eternity. The feeling of the unknown. The feeling of constant nausea. Each day gets the tiniest bit better so we keep our heads up high.
Beyond grateful for everyone's help in every which way, honestly. Moving from one place to the other and trying to maintain my positive way of thinking is so incredibly challenging but it's a must. Last night was a much needed, kind of unplanned moment, when my girls Constance Mead, Olivia Tuccolo and Theary Him came over and took my mind off of life. I got to feel like myself for a bit. I stilled offered them help or food from whatever we had because it makes me feel good to do so. Having my little circle last night made me feel like things are going to be ok. I love you girls so much. I always have and I always will. Like I have always said, I've got your back regardless.
A special thank you to Evolution Basketball, our EVO family for everything you all have done. I can't put it into words. I wish I could but all I have is "thank you."
Robyn, thank you and your sister for being there that 1st night a week ago.
Lisa, you are an angel honestly, thank you.
Christine, you and your family, honestly, no words.
Jose, mi Tio y mi Tia..... thank you guys so much.
Heather, you were the first one to get us out of the hotel room and get our minds off of things, even if for a bit. You guys have a piece of my heart.
Brigette, I feel like there is nothing I need to say to you. I love you SO much.
Christopher & Sai..... thank you guys for making me always laugh so hard it hurts.
Joel, that conversation we had when you told me our entire lives should be a movie..... only some know what that means. I love you bro, my "dude"
Mirta, my Wela, my Ma..... you are my anchor in the worst situations. You always have the right words to say. Never judging, never criticizing, always positive. I thank you.
Mercedes, you are my mother and I love you always. Thank you for your help with the girls during this time.
*Central Catholic Family...... you guys have been overwhelming supportive throughout this crazy chaotic time. Thank you for EVERYTHING.
*Iglesia de Cristo Lawrence, thank you beyond words for your generosity.
*Sola Salons family, thank you guys for your support throughout this time.
*Anyone at all that I have forgotten because it is far too many for me to remember, a special thank you because you have helped us so much and we are SO grateful. Thank you.

Ivan and I have a running joke about "life." Ever since we met over 17 years ago we never had it easy, ever. There is too much detail to get into it but any time something started to go good in our lives, something negative happened and we would laugh and say, "ok no problem just another obstacle." This is by far the biggest obstacle we have ever faced but we've made it this far.
Thank you.

Update!!! This is a message from Veronica: PLEASE SHARE:: ANYONE in the South Broadway area around South St & Wedgewood Rd. In Lawrence Milo is out there! He is alive. He actually made it out of our home!!! We drove back to Lawrence this evening to try to get him. He is terrified. We ran into him 2x but he is beyond scared. He is such a sweet boy and will NOT scratch or bite you but he is terrified. There was a picture posted on facebook of him INSIDE someone's car!!! Why did they not bring him to the MSPCA or call the police?? He is micro chipped so if he is found and brought to the MSPCA they can scan him and look me up. If you see him please please contact animal control or the Police Department!! Contact me or my husband, Ivan Soto through PM also. Thank you! SHARE PLEASE
