We are the Powers Family & We Need Your Help!
We are trying to move into a home that will fit us, be safe, & allow Adriana to heal from multiple forms of cancer. In order to win this fight, Adriana needs to remain in the Pacific Northwest area to continue to work with her amazing team of doctors, so we are actively seeking a home in this area.
Adriana's fight with cancer began over a decade ago when our firstborn son, James, was just a baby. After losing her thyroid to cancer, then being attacked by aggressive melanoma immediately after the radiation, Adriana would face cancer again every few years. Adriana's immune system is weak, so aggressive treatments of any kind are not an option - everything needs to be gentle and natural. We have tried: going vegan, juicing, coffee enemas, paleo, keto, cannabis oil, activated oxygen, high dose turmeric, meditation, visualization, sensory work, energy work, and more - many treatments have been very effective, but many have also been ineffective: because she has no thyroid, it is not clear what will work for her in comparison to other people with thyroids.
Matt's business is still in its early days, and we are carrying debt still from the time when Matt was a public school teacher and we struggled to pay medical bills even without the burden of paying for rent! It's cost us a lot to stay healthy - Matt has been quietly dealing with Crohn's disease this entire time as well. Most folks have no idea that some days he is in so much pain he can hardly move, eat, or speak - this is the main reason Matt hasn't maintained a daily LIVE program since his time at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. Matt typically works from 6am-9pm every day balancing cooking, homeschooling two boys with Adriana, managing five online courses with over 1500 students, hosting a podcast, coaching individuals 1:1, and managing dozens of online communities and websites, but some days he works much longer hours. His health waxes and wanes, and right now, we all need rest and a break to catch up with ourselves.
We both need to heal, and our boys need a break from the stress. If you can help us with anything towards our move, new home, medical debt, and ongoing medical expenses, we will forever be grateful and indebted to you for your kindness.

Unfortunately, the new home we'd located backed out of their agreement last minute after all the plans were set in motion due to a family emergency on their end. Our current landlords had located someone to move to replace us already, so we have to be out of this house by May 14th. We are planning on moving May 11th, but we do not yet know where to.
