Joe and Lois Nigrin were on vacation in Arizona when they were hiking up a mountain and Lois was over come by heat. After being air flighted to the local hospital, her health has seriously declined. They are working on transporting to one of the transplant centers in Phoenix. She is currently medically induced sleep and is on a ventilator.
Their four children were back in Nebraska when this occurred and has since flown out to Arizona to be with their mom.
Lois has been a first grade teacher at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic School for over 20 years and has tutored many children along the way. She is very loved and respected by the Catholic community. This has been devastating to her family and their only concern should be about being with her during this difficult time.
No one is sure how long this will last so any funds to help with hotel costs, food, and transportation would be very much appreciated.
