Help the Nieves family rebuild!

Donation protected
Santa Nieves is a mother of three and a grandmother of eight.  Santa is a Puerto Rican resident who lost her home to Hurricane Maria.  It was completely destroyed.  She also owned a home in Alford, Florida.  On the night of January 31, 2018, Santa’s house in Florida caught fire.  Santa’s cousins, Tonio and Myrna were visiting and staying with her.  They were supposed to begin their journey back to Puerto Rico on January 30, but decided to stay one more night.

On the night of January 31st Cousin Tonio heard glass shatter, and asked Myrna to check on Santa whom they referred to as cal Mamita.  When Myrna exited the bedroom, she immediately saw that one side of the house was engulfed in flames.  Myrna altered her husband Tonio, and they proceeded to wake up Mamita.  They were able to escape wearing nothing but their night clothes.  The family cat and dog were able to be saved, but the pet birds that Mamita and her grandchildren raised were lost in the fire.  Twenty-Five years of Mamita’s memories and possessions went up in flames on this horrific night.  Thank God they survived, but now they must try and rebuild.  They were left with nothing – not even a pair of shoes to wear.

Any donations and prayers would be appreciated as Mamita tries to get back on her feet!
