On April 25, 2019 Carla Nelson was admitted into Spartanburg Regional Hospital suffering from anemia and severe dehydration. Following 2 CT scans and exploratory surgery, the doctors located a large mass in her lower abdomen. After 2 long weeks of waiting for the reports from 2 pathology specialists, finally, on May 8th, the doctors returned with their diagnosis of High Grade Uterine Cancer.
Carla and her family are actively pursuing and researching treatment options and preparing for whatever surgery lies ahead. She has an incredible outlook & knows God is in complete control of this situation.

Carla is kind, selfless, compassionate & has always fought for others, especially the underdog. Now she has her own fight ahead of her. We started this fund in an effort to help her family as she doesn't have health insurance. It is our hope that you will join us as we come alongside Carla to beat cancer…Together. We are extremely grateful for your consideration as the race begins!

It's Monday, and time for some more good news!

We've had another great week here on the Farm! Carla has continued to feel better; smiling-a lot! We're all enjoying her progress and it's almost normal-almost.

This is another treatment week. Thursday will mark our 1/2 way point in the proposed chemo treatment plan. We've been praying and believing the week following the treatment will better than the last-and that it will continue that way until we're done!

Carla has faced some anxiety over the last few days anticipating the chemo, but she's holding onto the Word and it's truth to carry her through.

Although this week has been a reflection of what we've lived before, we're both quick to admit-it's hard to really remember how things were 'before'. Now on this side of things, we see that the life we were living over the last 36+ months really wasn't much more than surviving.

Please continue to pray for healing and provision. We're excited to see what lies ahead as we're certain we have a work to do together. Also be on the look out for a Special Edition Tee Shirt promotion from Post & Gate coming soon!

We love and appreciate you all-

The Lord bless thee and keep thee;
the Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee;
the Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.’
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJ21)

Sometimes things feel so 'normal' you forget they're not...

Please excuse my lapse of memory. I honestly forgot that yesterday was Monday-and there was an update due!

We've enjoyed some of the best days we've lived (in a while) over the last week. Carla began coming out of the haze of treatment last Thursday. Friday was better as was Saturday; but Sunday was Amazing! We laughed, enjoyed some company-even argued about who actually cooks the meatloaf in this house (me)!

Speaking of Friday; Thank You to everyone who was a part of the Impact of Hope event in Spartanburg! It was Phenomenal to see so many of you there, the house was full of love and grace-you made it special. I can't think the IOH folks enough for considering our family, what a privilege it was to partner with them.

Carla is really feeling better. She seems to have gotten a handle on her Heart Meds. She's up and about without help and even smiling :) Last evening I brought a kitten home for the kids and I was stunned to see her come out of the back door. She sat at the picnic table and watched the kids for a while. (that's big y'all!)

Our plan is to continue to have her up and moving during this recovery time. Her appetite is great and that is a help too! Her next treatment is scheduled for the 22nd of August.

Your prayers are felt here all the time. We're literally seeing the Hand of God move on a daily basis. It's almost unbelievable....almost! Thank you so much for your support! We're count it a privilege to walk in this you. The Kingdom is growing and moving and you're a part of it.

Thank you for being Jesus to the world!

The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you];
The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor],
And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];
The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval],
And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’
Num 6: 24-26 (AMP)

Keep Believing!

This news is so great I've had to type it 3 times! ;)

"Significant Shrinkage!"

That is the term the oncologist used to describe the tumor this past Wednesday after examining Carla. Shrinkage is a key to the victory we're pursuing and we were stoked to hear it!

We came home to a brand-new set of Hair Trimmers; the kind you never dream of using on your wife. We allowed Zoe Belle to kick of the cut with Kitchen Shears, but in less than a minute Carla was asking for me and trimmers. So after 23+ years I cut her hair for the first time.
ps. *She's Still Stunning*

Carla has spent nearly every minute since returning home from Chemo in the bed. Her heart-rate seems to be manipulated by those meds and we're having a hard time controlling it. This in-turn invites anxiety and it cycles up and down-keep praying!

We hope to see you this weekend at the Impact of Hope event on Friday night (8/9/19)!

Each day we continue to see Jesus modeled in those around us! Please don't buy into the doom-gloom rhetoric, there is lots-a-good out there and a great deal of it is inside of you! Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Hey Y'all, from Home (no place like it btw!)

Last Monday I wrote from the Hospital, and the following day we were discharged! After some intense observation, amazing care and a closely monitored mixture of meds, She’s feeling pretty good! Her heart rate is in check and the dehydration issues have seemingly ceased!!!! Praise the Lord!

A great update for sure, but it’s not happened without some challenges...mainly 5 cases of Strep Throat in almost reverse birth order :) All of the kids are on the mend and Carla’s been quarantined to the bedroom, while the kids walk around in surgical masks! Sometimes you just have to chuckle, so you don’t burst into tears-right?!

With all of that said, we can’t go without thanking you for being the Hands and Feet of Jesus! We’re so grateful for your Love, Prayers and Support during this season...I think that’s how I’m going to refer to where we’re at...because just like seasons change, so will our situation! I gotta tell you, we see the mighty hand of God everywhere we look, and sometimes it looks just like you!

Carla is scheduled for her 2nd Chemo Infusion this Thursday, if you will, say a little prayer as we head into the weekend! (James 5:16)

Feel free to share the update; I’m finding out that not everyone is on the same Social Platforms and may miss the link. Thank You!

Don’t forget the upcoming Impact of Hope Dinner and Auction!
