The Dillinger Escape Plan were involved in a serious accident while touring in Europe and while initial reports say no one was seriously injured, much of their gear was damaged or destroyed. This is their final year as a band and don't need to deal with worrying about funding gear to finish their European tour and make as many people happy as possible to see them one last time before they hang it up as a band. Any funds raised will go to the band and everything helps out, no matter how small or large. Please share this to help out this amazing band in a time of need.

They have officially cancelled the rest of the European tour as well.

"The Dillinger Escape Plan were involved in a serious bus crash this morning in Poland after a truck rammed into the tour bus.

According to the Associated Press, a spokeswoman from the police said, "that band members were not seriously hurt but were taken for tests at the local hospital. A pregnant woman traveling with the band was not hurt."

The truck driver was the most seriously injured, but there has been no reported deaths.

The band's scheduled concert today in Krakow has been canceled"

Also, a bit about myself. My name is Chris Pausch and I'm from the north Chicago suburbs. Ever since I saw the Dillinger Escape Plan live, I've been obsessed with them. I was lucky enough to be able to interview Greg a couple times a few years later and have hung out and helped the band for a few shows. This band means the world to me and have helped myself and countless other fans when tickets were sold out or just by being there to talk.

I have been in contact with Ben Weinman (check the updates for one of the emails) and this money is going directly to them. This money is going to be used however they see fit and will be not only for them, but as well as their crew, driver, etc. Even if insurance covers all of their medical expenses and gear, they are still losing out on around 20 shows. I know the band wants to make up those shows for the fans to see them one last time and hopefully this will help them get back on their feet in the meantime. Also, getting the money even if they are insured will take a lot of time, especially given it was an international accident.

The band is self managed and this is the support that us fans can give.   Thank you all so much for your love and support, and I will keep everyone updated.

Wow guys, the support from everyone is great and I just upped the total current goal to $20,000 due to how successful it has been and suggestions from donors.

I know many people can't contribute until the next week or two due to payday, refunds, etc, so I hope to run this about two weeks.

Even if you can't afford it, all of us and the band love your support even if you simply spread the word.

Much love out to all of you and I'll keep you guys updated.

Alright guys, over a grand in under an hour and thanks for anyone spreading the word. I've changed the goal to $10,000 because of how well it is done and sometimes people stop when it hits the goal. With Liam having a kid and Ben having one on the way, anything helps.

From Dillingers page: Edit: There is no band gofundme account. Anything you may see comes from fan good will, not something we can control. We appreciate peoples' good will and intentions, and genuinely love that some of you truly care about us, but there is no gofundme that we have launched of our own accord. There are a lot of people that need charity in this world, this juvenile time in our species' existence is heartbreakingly still an externally grossly unfair and imbalanced place for all human beings with equally inherent worth to be born into. We are some of the fortunate ones for sure. But we cannot control what you initiate, and are appreciative, even while ridden with existential guilt.

For those concerned about legitimacy: no, this account is not run by the band, but by a fan. However, as shown by the screenshots in the first post, the funds go directly to Ben Weinman who is a benefactor, and no one else can touch the funds. So be assured that while this is a fan-run initiative, it is also not a scam. :)

You've really pushed me to be a party smasher in my ideas and work and I'm forever indebted for such inspiration. You've left a mark. Love and thanks. Rest and recover, looking forward to breaking shit together again like unhinged gremlins.

I've seen DEP five times in concert, the first and last times I ended the show by being onstage with dozens of other fans. I'll never forget either one. I can't overstate how much your music has done for me, and I hope you bounce back from this as soon as possible. I gave what I can, hope others will too. Best of luck, guys.
