Help the Armettas

We are in desperate need of help.

It’s with such a heavy heart that I must inform everyone that Mom has passed. She got home from the hospital at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 15th & left the world at 8:00 AM on Thursday, August 16th.

Our beloved 12 1/2 year old German Shepard, Ozzy left us just two days later, Saturday, August 18th at 2:44 PM.

On Wednesday, we told all of our friends and family that Mom might only have a couple of days and that she would be home around 5:00 PM on Wednesday. Everyone that was here at the house that night, I'm so glad you were all here to Celebrate Mom before she left. We had dinner and Sandy's favorite drink, a Mai Tai. We all surrounded her with love and we prayed for her, she spoke with her, we kissed her, we hugged her. At 2:30 AM she had a seizure. We were afraid that was it, we believe after that Mom was in a coma but we don't know for sure. We all slept in the living room together and at 8:00 AM God took Sandy Armetta into the gates of Heaven. Her Husband, Son, dogs and I were all with her as she left.

We didn't think we would have so little time with her. We thought we'd have at least a couple of more days but she just wanted to be home so she could be with us all as she left and joined God in Heaven.

Ozzy is our baby boy. He was the most loving, goofy, sweet boy I could have ever asked for. He showed me unconditional love and he always put a smile on my face. He had been having a lot of trouble walking and a few months ago he developed DM or what we call ALS meaning his back legs became paralyzed. Up until about 2 weeks ago he would drag himself and get around being so stubborn. He passed just 2 days after Mom in our living room.

Our house seems so empty now. No Mom and no Ozzy. We are just trying to pay our bills and keep our HOME. Dealing with both Sandy and Ozzy being sick at the same time has taken away from Capitol Glass being able to take work because all time and effort was being spent on Sandy and Ozzy's well being. They are gone now and finances are to be honest, overwhelming and now they are at a point where we are at jeopardy of losing our home. So please, I ask can you share Our Story? Spread the word? Whether it be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, at Work, Church, anything would help. I'm already so amazed by so many people but unfortunately we do need a lot of help at this time.

The Beginning-

Everything started in March/April of this year. Sandy Armetta took a fall one evening and the next morning we were all aware, she had black eyes and she seemed pretty out of it. We noticed over the next week that something wasn’t right. We decided to take her in to the hospital to the ER and they told us that she was severely dehydrated (which caused confusion, dissociation and loss of balance) and her medications needed to be adjusted. She made signs of improvement and then it seemed worse, she was very disassociated and couldn’t talk at times, like she was stuck. Jim began taking Sandy to her doctor appointments and telling them what was going on. They didn’t seem too concerned at all, they just said she was dehydrated. We knew it was more….  In late June  Sandy Armetta was rushed to the hospital and we were told after several hours that she has several masses in both of her lungs and that it was most likely…. CANCER. Sandy is an amazing mom to Danielle & Kevin Armetta. When she was informed on what this could mean, she told Kevin, myself and Jim (her husband) that she wanted to be there to see Kevin and I get married. Kevin and I have known for quite awhile that we wanted to marry but there’s been no rush. Sandy had a biopsy done on her lungs on the 5th of July, only to find out they accidentally took a biopsy of her liver and that she would have to go through another biopsy to see what is going on with her Lungs. We have been trying to wait for actual results to see if we should rush this or even tell everyone but today, July 26th, 2018 we got the news that we all wish wasn’t true…. Sandy has Cancer in her liver and they need to go back and do a 2nd biopsy on her lungs to see if that is also cancer. They gave us a time of 6 months to enjoy her. That’s not enough, but I am blessed that we get more memories with the Mom that I have never had.

Capitol Glass was opened in 1977 by Jim Armetta. In 2015 Carmax took the lease from Capitol & Pearl Automotive Center, where Capitol Glass had been  located since 1977. With money being extremely tight we were not able to relocate to another shop so we decided to do Mobile work only. With everything going on, Capitol Glass is struggling to take care of our customers in the way that they truly deserve due to needing to take care of Sandy and provide her with the best care that she deserves. I work full time and can only help out a couple of hours a day and it’s not enough. Jim, Kevin, and I work around the clock to take care of as much as possible.

Unfortunately, due to everything going on and taking care of your sick wife is not the easiest. Many times, Kevin and Jim cannot do work for a job because they need to take Sandy to a doctor’s appointment or have to reschedule and end up losing the job due to priorities. We don’t have life insurance for Sandy and are struggling so bad as it is. Now we are trying to keep our home, keep Mom as comfortable as possible, try to  maintain the needs of our amazing customers over the years, and the list goes on. My goal is for Our wedding to be as special for Mom as it is for us. We are doing something small with family and close friends. We need help with everything from keeping our home, helping out with mom, our bills and our wedding. I am reaching out in any possible way I can for help. It doesn’t need to be money.  Please share our Go Fund Me and use the hashtag  #helpthearmettas

Prayers are more than welcome. And I cannot stress more over the fact that ANYTHING HELPS.
