Daniel Wesley is my 17-year old godson, my cousin and is also my hero! He is the "good Samaritan" who was shot and run over on Nov. 27th while trying to help a wounded woman on the side of the road who had also been shot and thrown out of her car. While rendering first aid to her, he himself was run over by the shooter in his car, and then shot by the perpetrator twice...once in the leg and once in the arm. Daniel is alive (praise Jesus), but has sustained multiple injuries and fractures, he is in a lot of pain and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. His femur was broken when the car ran over him, and he also has major injuries from when he was shot in the leg as well. He underwent surgery to place a rod in his leg. He will also need surgery on his arm where he was shot and the humerus shattered into multiple pieces. He will have months of rehabilitation and physical therapy ahead of him.  His father suffered a stroke and had to retire early.  Additionally, Daniel & his family's home was damaged in the Great Flood this past August. Therefore our family would really appreciate your support!  I have created this account to request assistance to help with his medical and other expenses.  Daniel is an extraordinary young man, with a heart of gold and a strong faith in God. Daniel is a senior at Central High School, and is loved by everyone who is blessed to know him. Please consider making a donation to help them, and as always, please support him and his family with your prayers! Thank you for your love and prayers in advance and God bless you!

"There is no greater love than this, to lay down one's life for his friends." John 15:13

The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:30-37

Jesus answered, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’ Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?" He said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

Hello everyone,

Here is the latest news story on my Godson & our hero, Daniel Wesley! Please take a moment to watch or read the news story! Also, if anyone wishes to continue helping to support Daniel & his future, any further donations will be put toward his college fund & helping him work towards continuing physical training so he can fulfill his dream of joining the Army to serve our people & this great nation! Daniel truly has a servant’s heart & the light of Christ shines through him! We are all still eternally grateful that God spared him on that horrific yet miraculous day a year ago. Right now Daniel is working 3 jobs trying to save up enough money to go to college & eventually enlist in the military. I told him he is already a soldier for Christ...the BEST kind of Army to be a part of!! Please consider helping support his future through your gifts of donations & most especially your prayers! The majority of expenses raised thus far have gone toward Daniel’s extensive physical therapies & his hospital stays & surgery expenses with having FOUR surgeries total! So he could still use some support to help pave his future, if your heart is moved to give, especially during this Christmas season of giving, Daniel’s future is most definitely a worthy cause to support!! He said to tell you all thank you & he loves you all! We love you Daniel

Today, Nov. 27th makes one year since that tragic day when Daniel was shot & run over while trying to assist Ms. April Peck. He is truly a walking, talking miracle! He has been through & overcome so much adversity & obstacles during this past year, than many people face in a lifetime. He is planning on going to college this Spring, & in the near future, as he continues to heal & get stronger, his dream is to enlist in the Army in order to serve his country & fellow man! Also, Daniel will be attending the March for Life in D.C. this January! We are so very proud of him & all he has pushed through to be where he is today. God has great plans for my Godson! “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

If you would like to assist Daniel, any further donations raised on this campaign will go toward his ongoing medical expenses as well as his college fund. Daniel says thank you all for your support & prayers! God bless you!!

Daniel is making progress but still a long way to go. What an inspiration in this world of cynicism and "all about me" attitude. This young 17 year old put his life on the line for a stranger. How many people will do that? He is my hero!

I can't help but think of that speech by Sam the brave in The Lord of the Rings, "There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for." Daniel, you ARE that good...God's goodness. With all the bad news we are confronted with, we are reminded that there are good people in this world, and you are a champion among them. May God always bless & sustain you, dear Daniel.
