Fashion house Aiyna Atelier is launching its first haute couture line and dedicating it to raising funds for Swakshatra-Innately Strong, an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) driven by ex-officers of the Indian army to provide basic rights and opportunities to girl survivors of child abuse and trafficking in India. Swakshatra-Innately Strong is currently developing a bridge school that will shelter these girls and rebuild their post-trauma psyches. But they need our help to do so!
Aiyna Inc. had planned a fashion show with strong and beautiful collection to raise fund and bring more awareness to this cause. As we failed to score sponsors and sell tickets, unfortunately we had to cancel the show. Aiyna Inc.’s fashion house was also affected by the floods in Kerala which was a huge disaster faced by the entire state in India. But still are fighting for the cause and are looking for funds to support Swakshatra. Your small support could still give hope to keep going strong to rescue and rehabilitate affected children.
Some of the Ex-Indian Army Officers, along with other concerned citizens, had started a Trust called Swakshatra, with a broad based mandate to work for the welfare and safety of Children and Women.
Swakshatra, a word of Sanskrit origins, means Innately Strong and Self Powerful. This is our vision for every woman and child, and we seek to work towards this vision, primarily by engaging in Child and Women Safety initiatives including Anti Human Trafficking activities.
Towards this mandate, these are the following programs undertaken by Swakshatra:
Program 1: Short-stay Shelter for Girls at Risk, in the age group of 6 to 16 years, intended to house high-risk profiles such as victims of child sexual abuse/ assault, victims of various forms of trafficking, children rescued from streets, children rescued from various forms of neglect and any situation that may inhibit the exercise of basic child rights.
Program 2: Training in Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) Awareness
and Women Safety.
The Short-stay Shelter mentioned above, has been commissioned with effect from Apr 2016, and with effect from Jun 2016, we have received various risk profiles of girls routed by the Child Welfare Committees.
This Short-stay Transit Shelter, was designed to house 12 children in Phase- I. Their operational expenditure to house 12 children is approximately Rs 1,00,000/- per month. They had expanded their facility to accommodate 25 children and had entered Phase-II of our operations August 2017.
