Help Shawn Knupp Fight Cancer

Donation protected
I am setting up this page for Shawn Knupp.  Please help this young father, LEO, Army Veteran, and friend fight cancer.  At just age 41, in October 2015, Shawn was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.  He has 2 wonderful children, Carson age 10, and Presley age 8.

When the cancer was diagnosed it had already spread to the liver and lungs.  Shawn started chemotherapy immediately and after 8 treatments had major surgery in March of 2016.  The team of doctors removed the cancerous portions of the colon and liver, along with removing the gall bladder.  After a month of recovery he started chemotherapy again.

The chemotherapy treatments require a 2 hour drive to St Louis, several hours of treatment, and a return trip home.  Shawn is then on a pump for another day and a half to receive the remainder of the medication. The treatments are every other week, usually 7-8 treatments before a new set of scans are performed to re-evaulate his situation.

Shawn has continued to work his law enforcement job, with the City of Anna Police, along with taking extra shifts at Cobden, and Jonesboro's Police Departments.  The weeks he receives treatment, he loses 2 days of work.  His coworkers, and other city employees have graciously donated their sick days to him to help when he must be away from work so that he will not have to go without a full paycheck.  However, those days are now all gone.

A year of chemotherapy treatments have been very hard for Shawn.  (This has taken a very negative toll on his marriage and he is now single, and fighting this alone.)  His body is trying very hard to fight this horrible illness but its getting harder and harder with each one.  He recently had a new set of scans done in St Louis to determine if, and how much these last rounds of chemotherapy have helped.  He has been on the highest dosage possible this past year.  The results are encouraging; no new growth since his last scans but he will need to continue with Chemotherapy.

Shawn has been fortunate to have great insurance thru all of this, but there are large deductibles, some out of pocket medication expenses, and ofcourse the cost of getting to and from the appointments, and the lost days of work.

Shawn has been working very hard to get as many shifts in as possible, so that his kids lives, and his own are not disrupted anymore than absolutely necessary financially.  Christmas is just around the corner, and his kids deserve to have a normal, awesome Christmas.

Thank you for taking the time to read the story of an amazing man, and hero.  Please share this link so we can get the word out.  I hope you will be touched to donate to this deserving man.  If you cannot donate at this time, then please share – share – share this post so that others may see it and want to give.  Shawn is a great person, extremely loyal and trustworthy, great father, son, and friend to many.  He has been dealt a very bad hand but is making the very best of it and keeps his head high everyday.
