Help send Jake to the Jr Olympics
I am the grandmother of Jacob Brandon Spears, an 11 yr old 6th grade track and field runner!
We first noticed Jake’s gift to run at 4yrs old. We call it a “gift” because it is something he does without much effort and he absolutely loves to do it! Last year (age 10) was his first time participating in an organized track program. With his gift and great coaching he qualified to participate in the 2017 Track and Field Jr Olympics!! There was good news!! The JO was just over the line in Ypsilanti, Michigan!!
We are excited to announce Jake has again qualified for the JO placing 1st in the 200, 400 and 800 meter races. The challenge is that this year it is being held in DesMoines, Iowa. We are asking for family and friends to support Jake by assisting us in getting him to Iowa July 29-Aug 4, 2018. There is not a whole lot of time to plan traditional fundraisers! We know many of you have supported Jake through your social media post and we have appreciated it. If you would like to support Jake financially by helping us with the cost to get him and his mom to Des Moines, Iowa, we certainly would appreciate it. We have no set amount...it is whatever you would like to give for this great cause!
