Help save Thors life

Donation protected

Karissa boatwright got her best friend Thor roughly 4 years ago. He became her best friend very quickly. Always there to cuddle. Always running to the door to see her after she had been away. She is an amazing responsible pet owner. She treats Thor like a mother would her child. Never wanting to be gone too long. Making sure he is clean and listening to the house rules.  Getting enough exercise , and eating right My roommate and I convinced Karissa to move in with us back in the beginning of February. But She wouldn't move with us unless she could bring him. Her and her family lived in their house with no power for close to a year. Running on generators when possible. In the dark, Thor was her protector. He was her company. He was her diary, and her peace of mind. We said no problem. We thought we could handle a dog for the sake of making sure Karissa had an environment where she could thrive and do the things she wanted. Start a career path, maybe go to school. We didn't realize we would have to handle more than just opening the door so Thor could go potty. Karissa lost her grandpa January 25th 2017. He passed away from cancer located in his hip. It was really sudden. One minute she was getting called by her mom saying her grandpa had cancer. The next he was gone. She didn't get to talk to him before he passed away. She doesn't open up alot so at the time Thor was who she talked to. Who she cuddled with when she felt alone. Who she cried too when she was in pain.. When she moved in we saw him limping. She did a lot of research on it. Hip dysplasia was something all the symptoms pointed to. She couldn't afford go take him to the vet though. So my roommate and I came up with the money for a visit to the vet and pain medicine. Karissa didn't want to accept it because she doesn't like people buying or paying for things she didn't work for. We worked out a babysitting deal so she could go to vet by just working off the money owed by watching our kids. Unfortunately Karissa got the most heart wrenching news. Something we weren't expecting. Her baby, has cancer located in the hip. This isThor. He is a pure breed American bulldog. He has cancer in the hip that's growing at such a fast rate that if he doesn't get his right back leg amputated within the next month, the tumor could possibly grow so big , it could essentially break his leg. He would then have to be put down. Honestly, this young woman is the most kind hearted person I know. She is so loving and she shouldn't have to go through anymore pain. I 'm starting this for her, because honestly there's no one I feel deserves their dog more than her, She just lost an important figure in her life roughly 3 months ago. Without being able to say good bye. She shouldn't go through losing the only companion she has had through everything, from the same medical issues none the less, just because she can't afford it. At this moment she can't even get a job, because she doesn't want to leave Thor alone. Honestly she doesn't even like to leave him for the the fear that she won't get to say goodbye. So right now she watches my kids to make sure she can pay for his medicine. She is constantly doing research trying to find ways to help him and help ease his pain. Any donations will help. A little goes a long way for an animal that deserves to live and a young girl who doesn't deserve anymore pain. Please share if you can't donate. Everyone has had that one animal that they can't let go of, or can't forget and wish they had. So I know alot of people can understand and relate. The 1500.00$ is for the entire surgery, the time in hospital, medicine for his pain, and his recovery. Anything toward that will ease our minds and ease Karissa's worries. Thank you for reading. I hope you can help.
