Help save Spike & Steph

Support for Spike and Stephanie's family due to Spike's vision loss.

As many of you know, in January Spike and Stephanie brought a new baby boy into the world. Stephanie had a C-section, which required her husband Spike to take several weeks off work in order to help take care of the new baby while Steph had to heal. During this time, some of the bills fell behind but nothing that couldn't get caught up in the following months.

With everyone healthy, Spike got back to work. He is the sole provider for his family due to the fact Steph is disabled with crippling rheumatoid arthritis, which has left her unable to work. Not only is Spike responsible for the bills and mortgage but he also pays 400+ a month in child support To help provide support for his teenage sons, Dominic and Sylvan.

However, After only 3 weeks back to work, on February 25th, Spike woke up with NO vision in his left eye. This is especially problematic sure to the unfortunate fact that Spike is already legally blind in his right eye. That morning he lost his remaining vision in the left eye which was the eye he is dependent on. He went to the eye doctor that day and was told he has a swollen optic nerve known as "Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy." Following Multiple doctors visits, medical tests, scans, etc. It was found out that he has a very aggressive infection in his optic nerve. He is currently being treated with heavy doses of antibiotics to keep this infection out of his brain, which is often fatal. These antiobiotics come with horrible side effects, including kidney problems, torn tendons and flu-like symptoms for the long duration that he must take them. Even with treatment, it could take his eyesight up to 3 months to return. In the mean time Spike has been left unable to drive or work and the bills are piling up! Right now the doctors still have more questions than answers and no one is sure how long it'll be before he will be able to return to work or even a normal life.

Their electricity bill is $400, and with less than $50 to their name, an 8 week old baby that is strictly formula fed, Spike's doctor appointments almost daily, as well as Steph's 13 year old son's weekly doctor appointments in another town, they are in serious trouble. Their electricity will be shut off soon, they're struggling to keep food in the house and gas in the car (as well as juggle their car insurance and a $300/monthly car payment) all of which are vital to get to all these very important appointments for the entire family.

They have no idea how they're going to pay the mortgage next month, let alone their utilities. Steph's mom has been a tremendous help, but she is only able to do so much do to her personal health challenges & limited finances.
This GoFundMe option is their last resort. They were very reluctant to allow me to do this because they are not the kind of people who"beg" for help. But the fact is, they cannot afford to get their electricity (or any other utilities) shut off, or lose their home, especially when Jax (8 weeks old) and Jayden (13 years old) are dependent on them.

Anything, even $5, will help. And every penny will be immensely appreciated. Thank you,
