Stop Pending Homelessness for Christian and His Dogs

After having to leave the house he lived in with his abusive partner, my friend Christian Berry was lucky to find an apartment that could accommodate the needs of him and his two large dogs - Luce (a German Shepherd) and Bodhi (a Great Dane) - who are two of the sweetest fur babies you'll ever meet. As he's been rebooting and enjoying his life, free from a toxic 10-year relationship, it's hard to see Christian hit hard times again.

Now, my friend of 13 years is facing eviction. He had to deal with some health issues last month and after paying the deductible for the procedure, some scooter repairs and trying to maintain everything else, he has exhausted all of his resources. He went through any money he had. He is at the end of his rope, after trying and trying and trying.

Anyone who might know Christian knows he's a caring, thoughtful person who mostly puts the concerns of others before his own.He would give his last bite of food to his dogs before himself.  Christian doesn’t like to ask for help. He didn’t share his health or financial issues with anyone…tried to handle alone. He’s private and tries to carry everything on his shoulders. Asking for help - to help himself - is the most difficult thing for this stubborn animal-lover to do.
He had a mediocre paying job that he quit for a better job. After a week and a half at the new job as an Office Manager at a media company, he was informed the person he replaced had quit school and wanted her job back. Christian was let go. He has managed to find another job but has just started and hasn’t even gotten a first paycheck yet. And it is barely above minimum wage. He took it to have any money coming in. And he has been doing deliveries with his scooter.

He could probably crash on a couch if he loses his home but he will lose his dogs. They would have to go to shelters. They are both older and the likelihood of adoption is not high.  He only has about a week before eviction the process begins.

So I’m asking for money for him to just "survive": to pay for rent (to avoid eviction), utilities, food, more repairs on his scooter. His goal is to get a better full-time job. He has been trying to get it! He has some prospects. And he also wants to go back to school.

For now, he would be more grateful than you could ever know to just help him save his home and his dogs.

If just 150 friends came up with 20 dollars (like 1-2 drinks worth) Christian would be back on his feet. him and his dogs would be safe this Holiday Season and everything would be back to normal for 2019.

Thank you.
