Help Save Busseltons Museum

Hello, we represent The Busselton Historical Society, West Australia, a volunteer operated, not for profit organisation. We are dedicated to preserving and restoring Busseltons' history, housed in The Old Butter Factory Museum.

The factory is an iconic 100 year old building displaying a large quantity of the Museums historical memorabilia, which holds many special memories for a lot of people in our community and the Museum is a very popular attraction for visitors to our city.

On March 27th , 2018, a part of the Old Butter Factory Museum was severely damaged by fire. The main gallery on the first floor and all its precious contents, fittings and cabinetry was completely destroyed and heavy smoke and water damage occurred in the remaining exhibit rooms , on the same floor.


We want to restore this part of the beautiful museum and our plan is to refit  the damaged areas of the museum and salvage, restore and replace as many artefacts as possible.

This will involve replacing display cabinets, fixtures, archive storage for artefacts and collections as well as furnishings.
