HELP SAMMY AND AMELIA HAVE A HOUSE

Donation protected
Recently, we were contacted by our landlord through a letter stuck under our doormat that we would be forced to move out of our home at the end of our lease in June. Having previously been given the idea we would be able to stay at this address for a long time, we have been settling in for the last 2 years. We've been building a home here for each other, and for our 5 month old son, Rocky, and for our wonderful angel pupper, Rowdy. Now, we have to move out, and fast!

After a very eventful year of getting married, having a baby, surprise hospital stays, several surgical procedures, family emergencies, and our dog needing expensive surgery for tumor removal, our savings are, quite frankly, depleted. This surpise eviction has left us no time to save or to plan. Also, Sammy recently left a full time job to be a stay at home parent to Rocky, so our income has decreased a great deal recently in hopes of giving the baby the best possible life.

Rent prices in Portland are ever-raising, and we hear stories from all our friends of landlords kicking people out of their homes. We are very worried about finding a rental, and would love to be able to buy a house for the sense of security that would provide. We want to have a home for our son, for our pitbull (who is is nearly impossible to find rental housing for because of breed discrimination), and of course, for ourselves. A permanent home that we can grow old together in and that our son can feel like is his.

Both Sammy and I grew up in single parent households and have always wanted to provide a good safe loving home for our own kids, and it's devastating to lose what we thought was stable housing with such short notice.

If every single one of our friends/family/Instagram followers/kind hearted strangers gave us just $1, we'd be able to combine it with what we do have saved and make a pretty nice down payment on a house! Hopefully! It feels so silly to ask for help as I know we're all in the same crazy boat and we're all just passing around the same $5. The old adage of "it takes a village to raise a child" comes to mind, and maybe we can use our village to buy Baby Rocky a house!
