Meet Ruth:
Ruth is a 17 years old girl whose mother is deceased and her father is sick, hence he cannot provide for his family. She is staying with her grandmother.
Since her inception into the project, she has tremendously improved in her academics.
She will finish her secondary education in November, and has a fee balance of approximately 90 €.
Ruth wants to become a journalist.
We are Siaya Education Project, an ANBI organization to provide financial assistance, mentorship and empowerment to secondary school students in Siaya county, Kenya. We are based on the belief that education is the best way to change the world.
We provide assistance for:
- School fees: the cheapest secondary school in Kenya costs around 120 € - 200 € a year.
- School material: internet, books and writing material.
- Solar lamps: replacing the paraffin lamps used by our students to study at night.
- Chicken project: our students are breeding chicken to raise money for their scholar fees and learning material, becoming independent at an early stage.
For many other students we organize our special Kidstar mentoring and training weeks.
