Help Rohingya FC

€320 of €2,000 goal

Raised by 3 people in 6 months
The Rohingya have been described the UN as 'the world's most persecuted people' and hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have fled their homes in Myanmar to escape an ongoing genocide.

Rohingya FC was established in Malaysia in 2015 to provide a positive outlet for Rohingya refugees across the world, using the magic of football to bring Rohingya youth together, with football spreading a message of peace and harmony.

Acting as a 'national' team for a people who have been denied their nation, Rohingya FC intends to give a voice to Rohingya youth and to inspire them to be proud of their identity.

The team has been thriving and grown considerably since 2015 and is now aiming to compete internationally, not in FIFA's framework, which is denied to them, but within CONIFA (Confederation of Independent Football Associations) which recognises nations, states and peoples outside the FIFA Family.

Rohingya FC joined CONIFA in 2017 and are aiming to play their first international matches in 2019, but the club struggles to raise funds especially since the refugees who run it aren't allowed to work or to hold bank accounts. Rohingya FC is highly appreciating the call for a fundraise and authorized this "call for action".

That's why Rohingya FC needs your help to continue and expand its work. Reaching the target will allow for thousands more Rohingya players to enjoy the sport they love and will help the team on the path towards representing their people on an international stage, an emotional and powerful statement of hope for a people who have suffered so much.

As requested by "GoFundMe" here the additional infomation about the purpose:

My name is Jens Jockel, CONIFA Asia President, living in Germany. I am collecting funds,to make it possible to provide RohingyaFC,a respected but financially struggling member, and persecuted group of people. We did collect a lot of equipment, which we want to deliver in person to Rohingya FC, organize meetings, events and much much more! Our relationship is as following:  RohingyaFC are a member of CONIFA. CONIFA is the biggest global football body for non-FIFA-teams, and wants to connect the world via football. We help our members, as good as we can, voluntarily.
We are registered as NGO in Sweden.

The funds will be spent for: the travel, providing equipment, getting the equipment over to Kuala Lumpur, the asylum city of RohingyaFC and helping on the ground.
Our withdrawal plan - If the funds are already sufficient to book the flights and the luggage/providing of equipment, we would have our first withdrawal of money.

On request,I will provide any donator, with the official letter of appreciation by Rohingya FC.
Best wishes,
Jens Jockel
Asia President of CONIFA
