On October 4, 2017, I walked outside my house to run an errand, went to get into my car parked in front of the house, but it wasn’t there -- no trace of it to be seen.

8 days later it was recovered, after being abandoned. The interior was trashed and broken, personal items stolen, driver window broken, hood and front bumper smashed, and all 4 tires flattened. Not to mention the smell inside that will take some serious work to remove. Finding it in this state was devastating.

This car used to belong to my mother, her pride and joy. After she passed, I purchased this car from my father in order to keep a little piece of her with me. Her pristine, 1992 Honda Prelude with 55k original miles on it!

So beyond any practical value, there is a tremendous amount of emotional and sentimental value wrapped up in this car. When the car was stolen, it broke my heart. When it was recovered in such a state, even though I wouldn’t have thought it was possible, I felt even worse. To find out more about this you can watch the video above.

From a practical perspective, as an actor, this car is vital to my livelihood. Gigs are often at short-notice and you have to be able to get to them. Without a car, I am unable to do the legwork required to audition, let alone go to a job once hired.

Since the car is 25 years old, it made no sense to carry full coverage - nor would most insurers even allow for it.

Because of this situation, I have depleted most of my savings, spending $3000 so far simply getting the car back into a drivable condition. It will require another $2000 to restore the car to its original shape due to hood and bumper damage, and another $1000 on top of that to get a security system that ensures this will never happen again. If I were to purchase a different car, it would cost at least as much as restoring this car, which also has a sentimental value that you just can’t put a price tag on.

I gave a lot of thought to putting this campaign out there at all. My partner and I have just returned to the country, we are both looking for work, and we are both living off of our savings. However, I recognize that there are people in much worse shape than we are at the moment. The car is now driveable. We will find work. I completely understand if you want to put your money elsewhere.

On the other hand, if in this time of crisis, you can help alleviate some of the costs of this drastic situation, I would be eternally grateful. You would help restore some of my sanity, some of my peace of mind, and something that is very important to me and the memory of my mother.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Please help spread the word, even if you can't contribute, helping to get the word out is just as important.

Hello to all those wonderful folks who helped me in this campaign. Sorry for the lengthy silence, but the good news is the car is finally back together!! I had a couple setbacks in the process, namely right after I got the car running again, I was hit not once, but TWO different times, and things are finally completely fixed, and the car is running great! I am about to fulfill the Silver and Gold Pledge levels, I believe that I have gotten to each and everyone via Facebook or email already, and thus the Bronze levels were all caught up immediately.

Waiting until the car was completely done was necessary in order to get pictures for the cards I will be sending out, and for the videos that I need to create for folks as well.

GoFundMe has recently made all donor information unavailable to Campaign owners due to Privacy Issues, and while I applaud that, and feel that security and privacy are paramount on the internet, it is making it difficult for me to start gathering the information I need to fulfil the Silver and Gold levels.

I am in contact with GFM support now, and will endeavor to get all the email addresses I need in order to send out video links. Howevver, in the meantime, if you have my email address, or we are on Facebook, or you can reply back to me via your GoFundMe account, please provide me a good email address that I can use to send out your video links in the near future.

Again, I apologize profusely for not having gotten word out about things sooner, but reset assured that I am currently working on getting out the videos and letters as soon as I can.

Thank you all so very much for your generosity, not only financially, but also of spirit in a time where I was very low. And thank you also for your patience with me.

I will let you all know how my support ticket goes in obtaining the information I need, but if you want to send me the information on your own, please do!

Gratefully and respectfully,

Thank you again to all those who supported, shared, sent well wishes, and otherwise helped this campaign to be successful. I will be shutting the campaign down at 5pm PST tonight, so anyone who still wants to support this has some warning. But this has far surpassed my wildest imagination of what could be achieved, I am so happy and fortunate to have such wonderful and supportive communities surround me. You all were what I was Thankful for on Thanksgiving day. Thank you so much.

Hey everyone. Thank you all for your generous support, kind words, and amazing spirit over the last 3 weeks. Thank you to, over $4,900 has been raised to date. That is such an amazing number, and far beyond my wildest dreams when I started this. I just wanted you all to know that I will be stopping this campaign on Thanksgiving Day. That won't mean much to my international supporters, of which there are many, but it is a day to give thanks, and what better day to reach a terminus than that? I don't think there is any better day. So, we will see where another 7 days brings us.

Again, I just want to say a heart felt THANK YOU to those who have supported me in this. From the first to the last, $1 on up, you all really brightened my spirits when I was at rock bottom, and helped me keep my head above water. I can't wait to give updates down the road as things progress, new pieces fixed/added, and finally, the completion of the restoration. You are all amazing people. Thank you.

Wow! What a week it has been! Over $4,000 raised in a week. This is beyond my wildest dreams.

With 3 weeks max left, is it possible to hit the goal and shut this campaign down early? I don't know.

In order to do that, another round of shares would need to happen, trying to boost the signal out there to folks who haven't see this. If you feel that you would like to help boost the signal please do.

Regardless of anything else, THANK YOU to all the generous people who have supported this campaign. It means the world to me, and I can never express truly the gratitude I feel to each and every one of you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
